Docs for SNGTYM.BA by T.G.Mihulka Like many other semi-audiophiles, I have several albums and cassette tapes that the manufacturers did not feel to publish the length of the songs on. For those of us that like to compile custom tapes for our own listening pleasure, this usually means timing the songs manually, with a clock or stopwatch. To eliminate the tedium of timing each song, I wrote SNGTYM.BA, which allows you to time the songs on one side of a cassette or album as you listen to it, and then display them to be written down for future reference. The program was set up for up to 24 songs, due to CD's, but most CD players display the length of songs, so this feature probably was overkill. When you RUN the program you will see a menu at the bottom for the function keys: RESET - This restarts the program, clearing the memory and resetting the song counter to one. START - Used to start the timer at the beginning of the first song. SONG - Pressed at the beginning of each sucessive song, automatically recording the length of the previous song, and starting the timer for the next. STOP - This is used at the end of the LAST song you want to time. Can also be used at any time to stop the programs progress. DISP - This will display the number of songs timed, and the length of each one in minutes and seconds (00:00). This key may be used more than once, and will re-display the list, as long as RESET is not pressed. MENU - We all know what this does! This program will clean up after itself when exited with the MENU key, and does NOT disturb the TIME$ setting for the 102's clock. I didn't do a lot of crunching on the program, so it can probably be shortened up a little, and even though I've never seen a song that lasts for hours, the program will time events that are longer. The only improvement I thought about was a constant timer display, like a CD player does, but for a 20 minute hack, the program does what I needed. 10 CLS:
