Fm: Jim DeCota To: TONY ANDERSON Tony, I have been working with your RECALL.BA from calls.mnu and RAMDIR.BA BUT the location for MSPLAN given by RAMDIR (65535) produces an SN error. All the rest work great. Is there a trick to calling MSPLAN rom? 65535 being the limit of ram would, I guess, cause a problem. Hope you have a ready answer. Looking forward to your talented solution to this one. THXS. - 0 - Fm: Tony Anderson To: Jim DeCota Yes. The number listed in the RAM directory for MSPLAN is not really where MSPLAN is located. As a matter of fact, 65535 is 2^16-1, or the absolute last byte in RAM space. Since no file can be located at that location, the operating system takes that as a flag to set the ROM selection switch and enter the ROM. But because it's a flag, you can't ENTER the option ROM there, you have to do a CALL, as documented by the company that produced the ROM, to get into it. Your mention of using RECALL indicates you are playing around with making various program names invisible or visible on the menu. I don't know what version of RECALL you have, but it may be that you're trying to work with the version for the 100/102 in a 200. Anyway, if you're attempting to make MSPLAN invisible, you have to change the value of the attribute byte, which is stored at the address indicated in the first column - at 62089. Poking 248 to that address makes MSPLAN invisible, and you won't be able to enter MSPLAN from the menu in that bank. Poking 240 to 62089 makes the name visible on the menu again, and restores access from the menu. Does that answer your question? If not, can you be more specific about what you're trying to do? - 0 - Fm: Jim DeCota To: TONY ANDERSON Tony, it was a M100 version that I changed by revising the pokes to those of the M200. RAMDIR.BA gave me the locations of the ROM programs. Making TEXT, ADDRS,SCHEDL,MSPLAN invisible, they are then called by RECALL.BA EXCEPT MSPLAN. That call produces SN error in line(the line referring to MSPLAN). As you know theM200 has MSPLAN built in. Is there a version of RECALL for the M200 that overcomes this problem? I'm hoping you have a workaround for this or you can relay a method of accessing builtin MSPLAN rom from RECALL.BA. Thanks for your continued support of the portables and M100SIG. /EXIT - 0 - Fm: Paul Globman To: Jim DeCota Jim - You can get into MSPLAN from BASIC with... CALL27801,1+(INP(216)AND12) - 0 - Fm: RANDY HESS To: Paul Globman Paul, Why is the ",1+(inp(216)and12)" necessary for the MSPLAN call? On occasion I've just made the CALL27801 and it seemed to work all right. - 0 - Fm: Paul Globman To: RANDY HESS Randy - I was just a bit overly cautious. I just disassembled the ROM at 27801 and I see that the ROM code does that, so a simple CALL 27801 should suffice. - 0 - Starting message #: 190607 Starting date: 24-Nov-89 21:40:05 Participants: Jim DeCota 72300,567 TONY ANDERSON 76703,4062 Wilson Van Alst 76576,2735 Paul Globman 72227,1661
