This afternoonwill be a great time for a hike in the woods.     Fall has brought changes to the scenery on the road to PecatonicaRiver Forest Preserve.  The mature corn stalks and soy beans, awaitingharvest, have turned a deep brown.  The trees in the farmsteads display amultitude of colors.     The walk in the woods of the forest preserve allows close examinationof the individual leaves... the golds, reds, yellows, purples, and browns.The dry fallen leaves covering the trails are crunchy under foot... a veryspecial part of a Fall walk in the woods.                      Consistency in a Chicken Dinner                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     Next we drive to a country Church just outside Durand.  TrinityLutheran Church is putting on their 82nd annual chicken dinner.  For $8 youget "cast iron skillet browned baked chicken", homemade noodles, mashedpotatoes, gravy, green beans, cole slaw, rolls, butter, and homemade pie.You don't go away hungry. I used to use the Marinetti TCP/IPconnection.  However, my local ISP "updated" their software a few years agoand Marinetti (and TTY telnet access) stopped working. They could notfigure out why.  I tried a couple of other ISPs with the same result.  Iended up switching to an out of town ISP, that had a local node.  However,the node is a service they buy from a national access provider and is notcompatible with Marinetti or TTY telnet either.  After the latest Marinettiupdate I tried it again, trying all of the different Marinetti linkmethods, but it still would not work.  I use my Macintosh now for webaccess but use my IIgs for most of my email and for Syndicomm/A2.Centralaccess.  For the GS access, I call long distance to the home number for myISP, which is TTY telnet friendly.
