READ THIS FIRST

You can call the Fido Software Bulletin Board 415-764-1629 at any time to
get the latest updates, bug reports and new support tools at any time. And
please, read the POLICY.PRN file on this disk.

1) It goes without saying: Backup your diskettes.

2) Create a subdirectory (say, "C:\FIDO") on your hard disk, copy all of
this diskette to it. The files on this disk are the files you need to start
with. The other diskette contains maintenance and advanced tools.

3) IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST EVER FIDO INSTALLATION: Check out Chapter 1 of the
Fido Book; it is designed to get you up and running quickly.

4) IF YOU ARE CONVERTING FROM AN OLDER FIDO VERSION: You really should go
through the book, but at least check out Appendixes A and B; if you don't go
through the book you will miss a lot of new things.

The program "11-TO-12.EXE" (on the other diskette) will convert old
installations to be 12 compatible. There are no filename conflicts, run
11-TO-12 from your current, old Fido directory, answer the questions. It
will copy files to the new directory, modifying some as needed, leaving
the originals untouched.
