- Control-C Aborts Commands/text display
- Control-K Aborts Commands/text display
- Control-S Pauses Commands/text display -
press any key to continue.

\F
F)iles displays a list of the files available for download in
this File Area. You can list files selectively using MSDOS
"wildcards"; for example, "F *.EXE" lists all files with
extention .EXE, etc.

\D
D)ownload sends files from Fido TO YOU. First, you are asked for
the file transfer protocol to use (you can get specific help at
that point), then the name(s) of the file(s) you wish to
download.

Please refer to the documentation for YOUR terminal program on
how to download. You must complete your download within the
remaining amount of your time limit. (Fido will warn you at the
right time.)

\U
U)pload sends files from your computer TO FIDO. First, you are
asked for the file transfer protocol to use (you can get
specific help at that point), then the name(s) of the file(s)
you wish to upload.

Please refer to the documentation for YOUR terminal program on
how to upload. You must complete your upload within the remaining
amount of your time limit. (Fido will warn you at the right
time.)

\A
A)rea-Change lets you choose one of the available File Areas in
the system. Files are generally grouped into File Areas by type
of program, etc., as determined by the System Operator.

The various FILE SECTION commands operate only within the
current File Area. ** NOTE that the L)ocate command is an
exception to this rule; see below **

\T
T)ype displays a text file on your screen.

- Control-C Aborts Commands/text display
- Control-K Aborts Commands/text display
- Control-S Pauses Commands/text display -
press any key to continue.

\S
S)tatistics displays various statistics about your connection to
Fido.

\L
L)ocate can be used to search for a file, or files, across ALL
File Areas. You can use the MSDOS "wildcard" characters at the
prompt for the file to locate. You might use this command to
locate in which File Area a particular file resides.

"L filename.ext" will list each File Area and all occurrences of
the file it finds.

\R
R)aw-Display is similar to the DOS "DIR" command, except that it
lists hidden files and subdirectories. It does NOT refer to the
Fido file list, "FILES.BBS", for the file descriptions.

\K
K)ill-File is similar to the MSDOS "DEL" command; it deletes all
occurrences of the file(s) in the current File Area. It also
removes all matching names from the file list, "FILES.BBS".

*** WARNING *** It will NOT ask "Yes or No" if you specify "*.*".

\O
O)verride-Path is used to specify a DOS subdirectory for the
FILE SECTION commands to operate on, instead of the normal File
Area.

** NOTE ** This command is usually made available to the SYSOP.

\G
G)oodbye: Log-off of Fido. Depending upon the implementation of
Fido on this system, you may be prompted to optionally enter a
Private message to the SYSOP before you are logged off. After
log-off, you will be disconnected.

It is safe to "Hang Up" on Fido; it is never harmful.

\M
M)ain-Menu returns you to the MAIN SECTION, the first menu of
commands you see when you log into Fido. From there, you can
return to the FILES SECTION or go into the MESSAGE SECTION.
