Rare-earth metal of synthetic origin on the earth

[Properties]

Promethium is the least abundant of all rare-earth elements in
earth's crust. There is absolutely none. It is remarkable that
anything at all is known about its properties.
Promethium belongs to teh lanthanide series (between 57 and 71)
and indicates that it is classified as a rare-earth metal. This
sort of classification is largely responsible for the facts that
are known about the element.
Promethium has at least two allotropic forms.
