XYLOGICS INTRODUCES FOUR PORT NETWORK ACCESS SERVER FOR UNDER $2000

REMOTE ANNEX LINE NOW OFFERS THE MOST SCALEABLE NETWORK ACCESS SOLUTION
FROM FOUR TO 72 PORTS

BURLINGTON, Mass -- August 8, 1995 - Xylogics, Inc., (NASDAQ/XLGX), the
leading provider of network access solutions, today announced a four-port,
standalone version of its award-winning Remote Annex remote access server
designed to provide smaller remote offices with high-performance,
multiprotocol remote access to all resources of the enterprise network. By
providing dial-in, dial-out and LAN-to-LAN routing capabilities in a
single box, the four port Remote Annex 2000 is the most powerful,
cost-effective and flexible solution for remote users who need to access
the corporate LAN or to connect to on-line services such as America
Online, CompuServe and LEXIS/NEXIS. When used in conjunction with
Xylogics' higher port products, the four port Remote Annex 2000 provides a
complete enterprise-wide solution for access to the corporate network.

Dataquest estimates that this year, 15 million workers will be spending
over 50% of their time outside their offices. This growing number of
telecommuters, business travelers and traditional employees who need to
work outside of regular office hours in order to remain productive will
require access to the same data and resources as their colleagues in the
office, making remote access a necessity for any company that has a
network.

"Businesses of every size are finding that they need to set up remote
access programs for their employees in order to stay competitive," said
Grace Carr, Xylogics' Vice President of North American Sales and Worldwide
Marketing. "The four port Remote Annex was developed for our customers
whose businesses include smaller remote offices that need a completely
integrated remote access solution. With the Remote Annex, users can easily
access any network resource from any remote location, while centralized
network management and maintenance functions make the network manager's
job easier."

ABOUT THE REMOTE ANNEX 2000

The four port Remote Annex 2000 provides remote and mobile users of IPX,
TCP/IP, AppleTalk and multi-user host systems with multi-protocol remote
access to the corporate LAN and all of its resources. Based on high
performance hardware, the Remote Annex 2000 supports line speeds up to
115.2 Kbps to support V.34 modems orISDN terminal adapters, enabling up to
four remote users to dial into a server simultaneously without sacrificing
speed or clarity. The four port Remote Annex 2000 also includes FastLink
II, Xylogics' easy-to-use Windows dial-in client software. FastLink II
supports simultaneous IP and IPX over the same dial-up connection and
enables remote and mobile users to quickly and reliably access their
corporate network directly from Windows simply by clicking on an icon.
Because FastLink II carries an unlimited "right to copy" privilege for
end-users, it is a very cost-effective remote access solution for any
network.

Smaller, departmental sites and remote offices benefit from the four port
Remote Annex 2000 through additional features, including:

* Remote Access to IPX, TCP/IP , AppleTalk and multi-user applications from
a single server: With the full Enterprise Feature Set, a single Remote
Annex product allows users to access IP, IPX, and AppleTalk resources on
the network via industry standard WAN protocols such as PPP, SLIP and ARA.
It also provides host access via DEC LAT, TCP/IP, and IBM TN3270.

* Dial-out access to the Internet and other on-line services: Users can
dial-out over IP and IPX connections to access the Internet, as well as
America Online, CompuServe and other popular on-line services and bulletin
boards.

* Economical, single-number dial-in access to a wide range of network
services: With the Remote Annex line, network managers can save money by
eliminating the need to dedicate modems and telephone lines to single
protocols. The Remote Annex 2000 can detect protocol requirements for
users dialing in remotely, and automatically configure ports to allow
remote users to access any service on the network with a single phone
number.

THE REMOTE ANNEX FAMILY

The Remote Annex 2000 and Remote Annex 4000 provide remote and mobile users
with multi-protocol, enterprise-wide access to corporate LANs. Both
products are fully scaleable; the Remote Annex 2000 now offers four, eight
or 16 ports, and the Remote Annex 4000 is expandable from 18 to 72 ports.
The Remote Annex line offers support for a broad range of standards-based
management features, and includes the Annex Manager, an X-windows GUI for
centralized configuration and management. Each Remote Annex server offers
built-in, high level security-including centralized password protection
dial-back and support for Kerberos and Security Dynamics' SecurID
technology-for excellent protection against unauthorized network access.

Remote Annex products come bundled with free Proxy remote control software
for the most efficient access to data-intensive applications, and free
unlimited use licenses for Xylogics' FastLink II client software,
eliminating the need to purchase individual licenses for each remote user.
The entire Remote Annex line offers a lifetime warranty on hardware and 30
days of free telephone support.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The Remote Annex family provides the lowest price per port of any
comparable remote access solution on the market. Pricing for the four port
