Windows 95 Features for Portable Computing

Toshibas engineers, working in the U.S., Japan and at Microsoft, have
incorporated features into the Toshiba computers that offer users new
capabilities not available before the release of Windows 95, such as warm
docking, which allows the user to insert the computer into a desk station
or port replicator without having to reboot to access the new devices. In
addition, Windows 95 has built-in support for PC Card devices, simplifying
installation and transition to new peripherals including modems and
network cards. And, with Windows 95s new network drivers, the notebook can
automatically connect and log on to the network when a network card is
inserted. The operating system also helps remote users stay connected to
the information they need by providing a means to keep data and work
synchronized between a desktop and a portable system.
