TELEBIT ANNOUNCES NEW V.34, V.42BIS FASTBLAZER 8820 MODEM

Telebit Extends High-Performance Modem Line With New V.34, V.42bis
Offerings

FASTBLAZER 8820 DESIGNED FOR GLOBAL MISSION-CRITICAL DATA COMMUNICATIONS

CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- August 22, 1995 -- Telebit Corp. (NASDAQ: TBIT) today
extended its line of high-performance modems with the introduction of the
Telebit FastBlazer 8820, a V.34 modem providing easily managed WAN access
for mission-critical applications. Available in both rackmount and
standalone versions, the FastBlazer 8820 is the newest member of the
powerful FastBlazer family of modems, designed specifically for
applications requiring superior access security, manageability and
performance over dial-up or leased lines. The FastBlazer 8840, already in
use worldwide, provides the functionality of the FastBlazer 8820 and
features four-wire leased-line support, along with dial restoral for
fault-tolerant remote connectivity.

The FastBlazer family complements Telebit's NetBlazer LS ISDN offerings,
providing superior solutions for leased-line restoral, branch
connectivity, dial-up LAN-to-LAN networking, and remote network access
over both analog and digital services worldwide.

"The FastBlazer 8840 and FastBlazer 8820 modems reflect over a decade of
Telebit innovation," said Michael K. Ballard, Telebit's executive vice
president of marketing. "The FastBlazer family is focused on global
mission-critical applications, where network security, reliability,
fault-tolerance, and performance are of the utmost importance."

The FastBlazer 8820 incorporates all the key features of the FastBlazer
family. It's fully managed by Telebit's popular ViewBlazer network
management system, a Windows-based ViewBlazer that allows the modem to be
managed remotely.

The FastBlazer 8820 adheres to V.34 and V.42bis standards, providing for
speeds up to 28.8 Kbps and throughput of 115.2K bps with compression. Its
Automode technology quickly selects the highest mutually supported data
speed, optimizing data communications costs. It also assures industry-wide
compatibility through its support of eight other ITU-T and Bell standards.
Furthermore, the modem is also fully compatible with the Telebit NetBlazer
family of dial-up routers for access to remote LANs or client-to-LAN
dial-in, including support for Apple ARA 2.0.

The modem's flash-ROM technology provides an easy way to download the
latest FastBlazer enhancements from Telebit's Bulletin Board System (BBS)
or WNN server, protecting their investment in remote network access
systems.

Telebit will offer in the fourth quarter of this year synchronous support
and a V.34bis upgrade that raises the FastBlazer family's data speeds to
as high as 33.6 Kbps and throughput up to 134.4 Kbps with compression.

Additionally, the FastBlazer 8820 standalone version features an integrated
auto-sensing power supply that automatically detects the power source,
then operates at either 120 volts or 240 volts -- no switches need to be
set nor dials changed.

The sleek design of the FastBlazer 8820 standalone version provides a
small-footprint alternative to bulky, space-consuming modems with external
"brick" power supplies. Even though its power supply resides inside the
unit, the FastBlazer 8820 measures a mere 1.875" x 7.75" x 7.75" -- barely
larger than a standard desktop modem.

Telebit has successfully obtained FastBlazer certification from
telecommunications entities in countries around the world. This
certification enables multinational corporations to employ the FastBlazer
in mission-critical, globally deployed data communications applications.
Telebit anticipates global certification of the FastBlazer 8820 by early
1996.

The FastBlazer 8820 is available now through Telebit's resellers and has a
list price of $799.

Telebit Corporation is a worldwide provider of on-demand, remote-access
solutions for multi-platform computer networks. Founded in 1982, Telebit
invented dial-up routing with the original NetBlazer router, opening the
door to on-demand remote access. The NetBlazer family and Telebit's broad
line of high-speed modems are used by Fortune 1000 customers worldwide for
financial, industrial, medical, retail, government, and academic
applications. The company has offices in the United States, Europe and
Asia, and markets its products worldwide through value-added resellers,
wholesale distributors and OEMs.
