Sybase and CROSS ACCESS Announce Data Warehousing Alliance

Emeryville, CA -- August 7, 1995 -- Sybase, Inc., The Enterprise
Client/Server Company and CROSS ACCESS Corporation today announced that
CROSS ACCESS will integrate its MVS data access product, CrossAccess, into
the Sybase Warehouse WORKS framework to provide an effective interactive
solution for accessing non-relational enterprise data residing on an MVS
Server using standard Structured Query Language (SQL). CROSS ACCESS will
distribute a special interface for SYBASE Warehouse WORKS through its
distribution channel. Warehouse WORKS is Sybase's data warehouse solution,
offering an open framework that provides a single set of APIs, based on
the industry standard Sybase Open Client/Open Server architecture, for
complete, integrated warehousing solutions.

The CROSS ACCESS interface will allow PC, mid-range, and mainframe users
alike to access mainframe data through Sybase's Open Server for MVS, CICS
and IMS. CrossAccess provides an ideal solution for extracting large
volumes of data, often a key requirement in data warehousing applications,
and it enables customers to deploy new data warehouse systems while
leveraging their current investments in mainframe data. With CrossAccess
integrated into the SYBASE Warehouse WORKS framework, customers can now
get up-to-date information using one, consistent architecture under the
SYBASE Warehouse WORKS framework. CrossAccess is now compatible with
Sybase's Open Server interfaces, gateways, and OmniCONNECT.

"With the demand for easy and timely access to corporate data still stored
in nonrelational systems, CrossAccess is a critical tool for deploying
data warehouses and other applications", said Mike Forster, president of
Sybase's InformationCONNECT Division. We chose CROSS ACCESS as our partner
for this functionality based on both the quality of their products and
their reputation for superior customer service."

"By working together with Sybase, we can insure that our clients get the
best of both worlds: CROSS ACCESS's experience with data delivery and
Sybase's expertise in open architected solutions for the enterprise," said
Raymond J. Nawara, president and CEO of CROSS ACCESS. "This product
synergy delivers enterprise-wide access to mission critical data residing
in relational and, more importantly, non-relational data sources.
