Microsoft Network Brings Cyber Marketing Guide and Seminars to Life

August 15, 1995, Berkeley, CA - Putting new twists on two conventional
marketing tactics, Microsoft Network (MSN) will play a key role in
Successful Marketing Strategists' campaign to define how businesses use
cyberspace for marketing and business communication.

An MSN forum will host the online interactive component of "Cyber Marketing
for Smart People," a strategy and tactics guide written by the marketing
firm's Senior Strategist Craig Settles. The forum will also host seminars
on various aspects of online business communications, such as conducting
online public relations campaigns and using cyberspace to improve internal
communications.

"Cyber Marketing for Smart People" is the first marketing book to use
cyberspace to deliver part of its instruction. This hands-on planning
guide poses specific questions companies need to answer and steps they
should take to get the most out of cyberspace. Readers will then
experience these lessons through links to companies' online areas,
up-to-date supplemental content and online discussions with other readers
and the author.

The firm's MSN seminars will be the first of their kind in cyberspace. Mr.
Settles has delivered seminars on cyber marketing in various cities, but
MSN will enable him to reach more people with less strain on time and
resources. MSN users will benefit by getting information typically found
in expensive seminars for less costs and more convenience. The seminars
may be supplemented with limited personalized consulting.

The firm will also post on MSN a subset of its Internet Web-based Cyber
Marketing Info Center (http://webhead.com/success) with enough content to
be a seminar in its own right. Users will find cyber marketing tips,
assessments of online marketing campaigns, resource listings, in-depth
reports and other information to help companies communicate effectively
online. The Center will include links to related resources and news
sources, and sections for online discussions and collecting user
feedback.

Successful Marketing Strategists constantly preaches the message that the
real commercial value of cyberspace is as a communication vehicle, not a
sales channel. Companies that understand and practice this concept will
significantly impact their bottom line. By presenting this message in a
format that exemplifies the gospel which the firm preaches, this MSN site
will reflect the popular adage that the medium is the message.

Successful Marketing Strategists goal with its MSN site is to become a
primary resource for people who plan and implement cyber marketing
campaigns for their companies or clients. General content will be
available on MSN in early September when details are finalized in the
firm's contract with Microsoft, and seminars should begin soon after that.
In the meantime, MSN users can access information at the firm*s Web site.

Cyber Marketing for Smart People, published by Ziff-Davis Publishing, will
be available for sale in October through the MSN site. People can watch
the book unfold online in outline form, and some of the book*s online
content will be previewed in September. Pricing for the book and the
seminars have not yet been set.
