THE NEW FRONTIER OF PROFESSIONAL WEB AUTHORING

New Tech Lab #1

VRML brings an interactive third-dimension to the Web. At this hands-on
tutorial, attendees will browse VRML sites with WebSpace Navigator and
learn to create their own 3D content with WebSpace Author. Attendees will
also learn to author interactive Web pages without having to learn HTML
and integrate audio, video and image content with WebMagic Pro.

AUTHORING TOOLS FOR THE WEB AND PRINT

New Tech Lab #2

The Frame/Adobe Internet Publishing Solution consists of three applications
that are the standards for high-end desktop publishing: Adobe Illustrator,
Adobe PhotoShop and FrameMaker. Together, they help users produce
high-quality, color documents for publication on the World Wide Web and in
print, and create graphically-oriented home pages on the Web without
requiring HTML programming expertise. Attendees will learn how to use
these three applications together to create documents suitable for both
process color imagesetting and on-line distribution.

A PRODUCTIVE APPROACH TO DOCUMENT TARGETING

New Tech Lab #3

The combination of productive printing equipment with a database-driven
approach to document preparation is demonstrated and explained by an early
user of this technology, proving that although very new, the technology
can be used today. Attendees can participate in interactive demonstrations
of practical ways to target publications to both reader groups and
individual readers.

MAKING HI-FI COLOR

New Tech Lab #4

Designers, illustrators, photographers and color buyers will see new
desktop technologies for producing the highest standard of color printing
in the graphic arts and in-depth demonstrations of the complete desktop
workflow for major Hi-Fi Color process options. Attendees will also learn
how to combine new approaches to color separation and screening, and plan,
configure and produce a job using new Hi-Fi Color process options.

HOW TO PROOF IN ALL-DIGITAL WORKFLOW

New Tech Lab #5

As direct-to-plate technology emerges as one of the fastest-growing
segments of the electronic publishing market, the question of how to proof
documents in an all-digital, film-less workflow has been raised by both
vendors and users. To demonstrate how proofing can be accomplished with
maximum productivity and accuracy in an open-systems environment, this Lab
will focus on educational issues involved with an all-digital,
multi-vendor workflow requiring managed color, high-speed RIPs, and
state-of-the-art proofing and plate-making equipment. Interactive
presentations will allow attendees to address specific questions and
concerns regarding this new frontier in electronic publishing.

TAKE CONTROL OF THE WEB

New Tech Lab #6

NaviPress and NaviServer, the first client/server Web Publishing System,
will demonstrate how these tools simplify how companies develop and manage
professional or commercial Web sites and on-line applications.
