SCO LAUNCHES NEW IDENTITY, MOVES INTO NEW MARKETS

SCO ANNOUNCES NEW TECHNOLOGY ALLIANCES AND DIRECTIONS AT SCO FORUM95

SANTA CRUZ, CA, SCO Forum95 (August 21, 1995) - (NASDAQ:SCOC) At SCO
Forum95, SCO is unveiling a new corporate logo to signify its expansion
into new markets. Having integrated the IXI and Visionware teams into its
worldwide sales and support infrastructure and launched a new Layered
Server Products Division, SCO is ready to serve the entire cross-platform
world of UNIX server and Microsoft Windows desktop integration. To
reinforce this strategy, SCO also announced key technology alliances with
Cheyenne Software Inc., Go Ahead Software Inc., and Mainsoft Corporation
that point to key products in the next 12 months. The new technology
announcements include:

SCO Puts August 24th on the UNIX Calendar with Wintif 95

Further strengthening its Windows Friendly strategy, SCO today announced
its Wintif 95 technology that allows customers to quickly take advantage
of the new Windows 95 desktop standard. Wintif 95 enables developers and
users of UNIX System programs to obtain an appearance and behavior of the
Windows 95 graphical user interface without modification to their
software. The product will be available in October, 1995. Information

SCO Strengthens Windows Friendly Strategy with ARCserve/Open from Cheyenne
Software

Adding another key building block to its client-integration strategy, SCO
is licensing ARCserve/Open backup and restore technology from Cheyenne
Software for the SCO OpenServer platform. The product will make it easy
for system administrators to backup Windows PCs and other clients from SCO
OpenServer systems. SCO plans to use the technology in future layered
products that will become available in the first calendar quarter of
1996.

SCO Strengthens Windows Friendly Strategy with Mainsoft Development Tools

In a strategic move that further strengthens its Windows Friendly strategy
for business critical servers, SCO today announced that Mainsoft
Corporation has agreed to provide its suite of 32-bit Windows development
tools on SCO OpenServer Release 5, the next-generation business critical
server. The products to be ported include Mainwin XDE, Mainwin Test, and
Visual SourceSafe for UNIX, marketed as Mainwin Studio. This suite of
products will provide developers with a single set of key tools to
develop, deploy, and maintain business-critical client/server applications
across Windows desktops and UNIX servers. The Mainsoft products will be
available to SCO customers by the end of calendar year 1995, and will be
supported by a variety of joint marketing programs.

SCO Strengthens Systems Management Strategy with Doctor from Go Ahead
Software

In a move that further strengthens its system administration strategy for
business critical servers, SCO has licensed leading-edge systems
management technology from Go Ahead Software to make it easier for SCO
OpenServer customers to service remote client installations and monitor
systems automatically. SCO plans to use the technology in a future layered
product that will ship in the first calendar quarter of 1996.

SCO Announces Strategy for Telecommunications Market

SCO announced a major initiative to bring SCO's Business Critical operating
system technology and Windows Friendly capabilities to the
telecommunications industry. SCO intends to develop a line of
open-standard, "telecommunications class" operating system products that
provide telecom users with an alternative to the delay and cost of
implementing proprietary systems. These SCO operating system products will
support a wide range of applications such as telephone switching and
computer telephony integration, to support e-mail, voice mail, IVR, and
FAX.

SCO and Chorus Agree to Provide Real-Time Systems for Telecommunications
Market

As a key component of SCO's strategy for the telecommunications market, SCO
and Chorus Systems have announced a new joint technology and marketing
agreement under which SCO will implement SCO OpenServer Release 5 on top
of Chorus microkernel technology to provide the real-time deterministic
and reliability features required to support "telecommunications class"
applications.

New SCO ASC Program Delivers Multivendor Support

SCO announced the launch of their worldwide Authorized Support Center (ASC)
Channel. The ASC channel was established to provide SCO customers with
worldwide access to multivendor support services from leading service
suppliers and OEMs. Olivetti is the first SCO Authorized Support Center;
supporting SCO customers in over 40 countries.
