Radish and NEC Sign License Agreement

Radish's VoiceView Featured in New NEC Ready Multimedia Computers

Boulder, CO -- August 21, 1995 -- Radish Communications Systems, Inc. and
NEC Technologies, Inc. today jointly announced a license agreement,
whereby NEC's Ready multimedia computers feature Radish's VoiceView
integrated voice and data protocol and VoiceView TalkShop software. The
Radish/NEC partnership provides new computer telephony services such as
electronic commerce to small office/home office (SOHO) consumers. The new
multimedia computers are available beginning August 24th from leading
national retailers and selected regional outlets.

NEC's Ready line computers are powerful, Pentium-based systems, complete
with a large capacity hard drive, modem, CD-ROM drive, pre-loaded software
and telephony and multimedia components in a plug-and-play design. These
advanced systems combine ease-of-use with leading-edge technology,
including full-motion video, Radish's VoiceView technology and support for
Windows 95 to deliver a solution that is ideal for work or play.

"Radish's VoiceView technology complements our Ready systems, giving NEC a
true advantage by enabling us to offer our customers an integrated
computer telephony solution," said Murali Dharan, NEC Technologies'
director of marketing for consumer PCs. "With Radish's TalkShop software
and the VoiceView Marketplace, we are delivering exciting new ways for our
customers to shop, exchange files and play games with the powerful
combination of their PC and telephone."

Ready multimedia systems feature TalkShop with the VoiceView Marketplace,
an innovative Microsoft Windows application that combines the ease-of-use
of the telephone and the visual display of the personal computer for
integrated voice and data transmission on a standard phone line. TalkShop
offers person-to-person applications such as information transfer and the
ability to exchange business cards, as well as new electronic commerce
capabilities for accessing a host of businesses that offer a wide array of
products and services.

"NEC is one of the first PC OEMs to adopt electronic commerce as the new
paradigm of computing, marrying phones and PCs to provide consumers with a
new way of interacting with businesses," said Paul Davoust, Radish's vice
president of marketing. "With the NEC Ready computers, consumers now have
instant access to information over the phone from live or automated
VoiceView Marketplace service providers."

To access VoiceView Marketplace services, a user picks up the phone, clicks
on a button on the computer screen which directly dials a service provider
and their PC connects them with a company offering a better way to do
business. The consumer then listens to audio descriptions or has a
conversation with a live customer representative, from service providers
1-800 FLOWERS, Blockbuster Music or R.R. Donnelley/Metromail, over the
phone.

Whether interacting with an automated agent or talking with a live agent,
TalkShop users gain the benefit of having visual information, such as
pictures, text or order forms, sent to them over the same phone line used
for their conversation. Through these visual components, the user is able
to make more informed choices and purchasing decisions. For example, a
consumer may view a floral arrangement or gift basket on their PC before
purchasing it from the 1-800-FLOWERS service, or the consumer may want to
listen to tracks on a newly released CD before purchasing it through the
Blockbuster Music service.
