ON TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION EXPANDS PLATFORMS FOR NOTEWORK ELECTRONIC MAIL,
ADDING MACINTOSH AND WINDOWS NT CLIENT SUPPORT

Cambridge, Mass., July 14, 1995 -- ON Technology Corporation announced
today that its popular Notework Electronic Mail package is now available
for Macintosh and Windows NT clients, expanding the companys long-time
support for DOS and Windows 3.1 into new environments. The new version,
Notework Electronic Mail 4.0, also supports a third new environment,
Microsoft Windows under OS/2 Warp.

In addition to new client support for Notework 4.0, other enhancements are
designed to support larger environments, Novells VLM 1.2, the fast-growing
base of "mobile" Notework users, and workstation performance.

Along with the upgrade for Notework Electronic Mail, its complementary
package for mobile users, Notework Mobile Office, also has been enhanced.
First introduced in December 1994, Notework Mobile Office has quickly
become an easy and reliable way for users to access their corporate e-mail
from the road, home or field office.

"Thanks to customer loyalty and input, the best little e-mail for Novell
NetWare LANs just got better," said John Rizzi, Vice President of Sales,
ON Technology. "While our DOS and Windows client base continues to grow at
a steady pace, we can now look forward to sustained growth with new Mac
and WinNT client support as well as improvements for our Notework Mobile
Office users."

Providing Easy to Use E-Mail To A Wider Range of Clients

Notework is an extraordinarily easy to use electronic mail and telephone
messaging package for Novell NetWare local area networks. While supporting
many of the value-added features of more sophisticated e-mail packages,
Notework is designed to be installed on the LAN in 5 minutes, to be used
by end-users within 5 minutes, and to be administered with minimal effort.
Since its introduction in 1989, Notework has gained a large and loyal
following among DOS and Windows users because of its simplicity and low
overhead.

Now, with Notework 4.0, both Macintosh and Windows NT clients as well as
OS/2 users who want to run Notework as a Windows application can enjoy the
immediate benefits available from Notework. For Macintosh users, the
Notework interface takes advantages of the distinctive Mac desktop while
carrying forward its award-winning "easy to install, learn and use"
personality.

For Windows users, significant performance improvements have been
incorporated into Notework 4.0 by reducing memory allocation by 200K and
by reducing the frequency of disk access. "Existing Notework for Windows
users should notice immediately that its a lot faster to open, put away,
file and delete mail with Notework 4.0," said Rizzi.

Notework Mobile Office Also Enhanced with Notework 4.0

The new version of Notework 4.0 also includes enhancements to the Notework
Mobile Office package. For the "truly mobile" user who doesnt have or
require a "home office" mailbox, there is no longer any need to have a
"LAN account" in order to use Notework Mobile Office.

Notework Mobile Office 4.0 now also supports the mobile user who has more
than one "mobile" platform. For example, some users need to access
corporate e-mail from the road with a laptop, from home with a desktop PC
and modem, and maybe even from a field office from another desktop PC.

A third enhancement for Notework Mobile Office provides end-users with a
time stamp for their last "Mobile Office Synchronization." With this
notice, end users will be able to easily determine when the last time they
did a "mosynch" to the LAN to refresh their in-box.

Several Enhancements For Network Adminsitrators

The new version of Notework includes several changes designed specifically
to improve the administration aspects of corporate electronic mail
systems. Notework 4.0 now supports up to 1200 addresses per server and an
unlimited of NetWare servers, whereas Notework previously was limited to a
total of 100 servers. Enterprisewide, Notework 4.0 can support as many as
50,000 addresses. Notework 4.0 also now supports Novell VLM Version 1.2
while continuing to maintain support for VLM 1.0 and VLM 1.1.
