Nintendo goes to bat with Griffey Jr. as spokesman and game advisor

Nintendo of America has hired baseball player Ken Griffey Jr. as a
corporate spokesman and game development advisor. The video-game maker
says the first products covered by the agreement are new baseball games
for the company's Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Nintendo Ultra
64 platforms. Nintendo says the Super NES version will be available in the
spring of 1996, and the Ultra 64 version will be released in late '96 or
early '97.
