FREE NEW CD-ROM REFERENCE SOFTWARE.

Instrupedia, Puts Instrumentation Information at Fingertips of Scientists
and Engineers

Austin, Texas - July 12, 1995 - National Instruments - the Virtual
Instrumentation Company - announced today a free new CD-ROM reference
containing instrumentation information for engineers and scientists
building test and measurement and process monitoring and control
applications. The Windows-compatible Instrupedia - an interactive CD-ROM
reference for instrumentation - is much more comprehensive than a product
catalog. It includes application notes, user solutions, demonstration
software, examples, and tutorials covering instrumentation software and
GPIB, VXI, serial, and data acquisition (DAQ) hardware. Scientists and
engineers can use Instrupedia to determine hardware and software
requirements when building completely new computer-based instrumentation
systems or upgrading existing systems.

About Instrupedia

Instrupedia features more than 60 tutorial and -how-to application notes
that help users learn how to combine hardware and software to build
computer-based systems for instrument control and data acquisition,
analysis, and presentation. Instrupedia includes more than 20 User
Solutions that describe how scientists and engineers used instrumentation
hardware and software to build custom, computer-based systems for
real-world applications in electronics test, fiber manufacturing,
aerospace, automotive, electric power, transportation, environmental
control, and education. Instrupedia also describes more than 500 hardware
and software products that scientists and engineers can use to build
instrumentation systems on more than 20 industry- standard computer
platforms and more than 25 operating systems.

Instrupedia also features demonstration versions of the company's LabVIEW
and LabWindows/CVI application software products, online advisors for
configuring data acquisition systems and performing in-depth analysis, and
drivers for more than 500 GPIB and VXI instruments. Users can also read
online tutorials to learn more about instrument control with GPIB and VXI
interfaces as well as data acquisition, digital signal processing (DSP),
and signal conditioning. Instrupedia features an online database of system
integration experts in fields such as automated test equipment, motion
control, process control, supervisory control and data acquisition,
manufacturing automation, image processing, laboratory automation, and
environmental applications.

Instrupedia also includes information on portable instrumentation products,
such as PCMCIA interfaces for instrument control and data acquisition, as
well as external instrumentation hardware that connects to PCs via the
parallel port. Also featured is information on customer education classes
for the company's instrumentation products and other training aids.
