Educators Save 70 Percent On First Software License

MICROSIM ANNOUNCES NEW EDUCATIONAL DISCOUNT POLICY FOR ITS
INDUSTRY-STANDARD WINDOWS EDA SOFTWARE

July 28, 1995 -- IRVINE, Calif. -- MicroSim Corporation today announced a
new educational discount policy offering educators a 70 percent price
reduction on the first license of MicroSim's electronic design automation
(EDA) software, and up to 95 percent toward additional licenses.

"For years, MicroSim's evaluation software has been available to
universities and colleges worldwide as a valuable tool for teaching
leading-edge technology in the electrical engineering industry," said
Wolfram Blume, president and founder of MicroSim Corporation. "We want to
continue introducing up-and-coming design engineers to our
industry-standard products."

Through the discount, educators are able to teach engineering students the
latest electronic design techniques and methods using such well-known
products as MicroSim PSpice for analog simulation, MicroSim PSpice A/D for
mixed analog/digital simulation, and MicroSim PCBoards with Autorouter for
printed circuit board layout.

Here are a few examples of MicroSim educational discount pricing for
Windows-based products:

                     Retail University Price University Price
Price For First Copy For Added Copies
---------------------------------------------------------------------
PSpice Basics $ 979 $294 $ 98

PSpice A/D Basics+ $2,879 $864 $288

MicroSim Schematics $ 479 $144 $ 48

To qualify for the educational discount, educators must use MicroSim
software in their classroom curricula, and not for research purposes.
Supplemental hard copy documentation and annual maintenance are available,
however, the discount does not apply to documentation.

For instructors who would like to evaluate the software before purchase,
MicroSim evaluation software for Windows is available on CD-ROM. A first
for the EDA industry, MicroSim's evaluation CD-ROM provides fully
functional evaluation software with tutorials, multimedia product
demonstrations, and a complete set of on-line manuals.

MicroSim introduced its flagship product, MicroSim PSpice, in 1984 as the
first program based on SPICE (Simulation Program With Integrated Circuit
Emphasis) available for IBM PC-compatibles. With over 23,000 users, the
product is so widely used that many universities and companies refer to
MicroSim "PSpice" in place of the generic "SPICE."

MicroSim offers a family of powerful, integrated EDA software products for
schematic capture (MicroSim Schematics), analog simulation (MicroSim
PSpice, MicroSim PSpice Basics), mixed analog/digital simulation (MicroSim
PSpice A/D, MicroSim PSpice A/D Basics+), PLD synthesis (MicroSim PLSyn),
logic simulation (MicroSim PLogic), analog performance optimization
(MicroSim PSpice Optimizer), printed circuit board layout (MicroSim
PCBoards with Autorouter), signal integrity analysis (MicroSim Polaris),
and Cadence Integration and Mentor integration.

MicroSim products are available for the PC on Microsoft Windows, Windows
NT, and DOS platforms, and on the Sun and HP for UNIX users. By selling
directly to engineers and through VARs (value-added resellers), MicroSim
users receive high-end EDA software at affordable "shrink-wrapped" prices
substantially below those of companies using a field sales force. "Because
we don't have an expensive sales department, we can pass the savings on to
our customers and VARs," Blume said.

MicroSim application engineers provide same-day response technical support
free to customers. More information on MicroSim products is available by
phone at (714) 770-3022 and (800) 245-3022, via fax at (714) 455-0554, or
