FIREFOX SHIPS NOV*IX MAIL FOR NETWARE

First Complete NetWare to Internet SMTP/POP3 E-Mail System

SAN JOSE, June 5, 1995 -- Firefox, the leading supplier of server-based
TCP/IP communications services, is shipping NOV*IX Mail for NetWare, the
first complete server-based SMTP electronic mail store-and-forward TCP/IP
gateway for NetWare LANs. NOV*IX Mail for NetWare runs on standard PC
hardware and requires no costly, specialized UNIX platform.

NOV*IX Mail for NetWare consists of server-based Simple Message Transfer
Protocol (SMTP) store-and-forward and Post Office Protocol 3 (POP 3)
retrieval system software. NOV*IX Mail for NetWare components are written
as NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs) and designed to run on any NetWare 3 or
NetWare 4 operating system product. The system may be complemented with a
Firefox Windows Mail client interface or, because NOV*IX Mail for NetWare
supports Windows Sockets (WINSOCK) and DOS LAN WorkPlace Sockets,
virtually any standard e-mail front end can be used. The product supports
both outbound and inbound SMTP mail as well as workstation-to-workstation
mail. NOV*IX Mail for NetWare can be deployed as a freestanding mail
system or integrated with any existing Firefox NOV*IX products. In
addition to supporting NetWare IPX/SPX clients, NOV*IX Mail supports IP
clients from an IP network. So, NOV*IX Mail can be a complete substitute
for a UNIX system in a solely IP world as well as the basis for a NetWare
mail system.

"The reliability of SMTP technology has been proven over time, but it's
always been an expensive, administration-intensive proposition," said
Peter Simkin, Firefox CTO. "NOV*IX Mail for NetWare breaks the link
between SMTP and costly UNIX systems, minimizes the administrative
overhead associated with dedicated IP environments and gives users a
full-featured SMTP/POP 3 gateway, solution-based, on the rock-solid
NetWare integration platform. In addition, users can run Firefox's new
NOV*IX for Internet in conjunction with NOV*IX Mail for NetWare to gain
both full access to the Internet and standard UNIX Mail connectivity from
the NetWare server."

NOV*IX Mail for NetWare is the only product on the market that offers
complete SMTP/POP 3 capabilities on a non-UNIX platform. Key features
include:

No individual connections -- NetWare users have historically had individual
points of access to reach SMTP/POP 3 services. Because NOV*IX Mail for
NetWare is server-based, TCP/IP is not required on individual clients.
This approach eliminates the cost of separate client protocol packages,
consumes no valuable workstation system memory and frees network
administrators from the task of managing dual protocol environments.

Standards-based for interoperability -- NOV*IX Mail for NetWare Application
Programming Interfaces (APIs) support any Winsock-compliant mail front end
over IPX/SPX, so users can access SMTP/POP 3 services through the e-mail
program with which they're most familiar, including Firefox's own Windows
Mail client software.

Fully integrated with NetWare -- NOV*IX Mail for NetWare builds user
profiles from information already in the NetWare bindery, thus requiring
no administrative overhead. The product is also subject to NetWare
security, so network administrators can assign access privileges by using
familiar NetWare commands.

Cost-effective concurrent user licensing -- Under Firefox's server-based
licensing policy, only the server is charged for connecting to SMTP
services such as the Internet. This enables all employees in an
organization to access SMTP services through the NOV*IX Mail server
gateway, but only requires the company to pay Internet access providers
for a single connection.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

NOV*IX Mail for NetWare is available in June as a complete SMTP/POP
solution that includes a mail client with prices beginning at $1,250 for
five concurrent users. NOV*IX Mail Server, without mail client, is also
available. Annual support contracts, including product updates and
telephone support, are available directly from Firefox. Interested parties
should call 1-800-230-6090 for further information.

Founded in 1989, Firefox is publicly traded and the leading supplier of
server-based, and Internet TCP/IP communications software for Novell's
NetWare network operating system. Firefox communications services are
NLM-based and allow users to access host computers and the Internet from
their PCs, providing terminal emulation, file transfer, support for
client/server applications, web browsing, printing and basic
program-to-program communications facilities. Firefox takes a unique
approach to providing TCP/IP connectivity for NetWare users by putting
these communications services on the NetWare server rather than on each
individual workstation. Firefox is a public company that is traded under
the NASDAQ symbol "FFOX".
