FIREFOX ANNOUNCES INTERNET SOLUTION
For Controlling Student Access to the Internet

SAN JOSE, July 15, 1995 -- Firefox, of San Jose, Calif., today released
NOV*IX for Internet version 2.3, which allows schools and other commercial
organizations to control access by users and groups of users to specific
Internet sites that may offer controversial or commercially inappropriate
material. Using common groupings such as Third-Graders, Teachers, or
Marketing Department, NOV*IX allows network administrators to control the
areas on the Internet students and other network users can access.
Administrators can enable or prevent access to individual sites or entire
regions of the Internet such as all government, education or commercial
sites.

"Other companies have only recently announced development plans for
products that Firefox is currently shipping; products that give
administrators the tools to control users specific content needs over the
Internet, perhaps eliminating the need for Congress to step in and censor
Internet content." said Dirk Christiansen, Vice President of Marketing.
"For example, one large school district uses NOV*IX to limit students
Internet access to government and education sites only, while giving
teachers complete access. When teachers want students to use resources on
other parts of the Internet, they simply request that those sites be
enabled for their class."

NOV*IX includes security features for controlling inbound and outbound
connections, administrative utilities that permit the network
administrator to centrally setup, manage, and monitor Internet usage.

"For schools the most important aspect of NOV*IX is the security; the
ability to control which areas of the Internet students and users can
access," said Michael Brannick, Vice President of Product Marketing for
Jostens Learning Corporation (JLC), of San Diego, Calif. "NOV*IX for
Internet is also particularly useful for schools because it supports DOS,
Windows and Macintosh clients. NOV*IX is easy to install because it does
not require the installation and management of TCP/IP software on every
workstation in a school, and allows all users to share a single TCP/IP
address."

Jostens Learning has licensed the use of NOV*IX as a part of its A+dvantage
Worldware software package that integrates Internet materials into a
sequence of instructional materials for schools.

The Olathe School District, near Kansas City, uses NOV*IX to manage access
to Internet across all of the classrooms and libraries in its schools.

"We weren't satisfied with any Internet access solution until we tried
NOV*IX," said Jennifer Cutler, of the district's Online Services group.
"We thought Internet access would be a fabulous resource to offer, but
were concerned about protecting students from sites that aren't
appropriate. Our approach is to use NOV*IX to declare Users and Groups,
and then open the door on all the areas we would like them to see. As we,
or teachers, see additional areas that our students can benefit from, we
can simply add them in as allowable sites."

"Now the teachers don't have to be the watchdogs," Cutler added. "The
NOV*IX client software takes care of that."

NOV*IX also effectively provides a Firewall that stops all inbound Internet
traffic with a "natural firewall" that is present due to the absence of
TCP/IP on IPX/SPX-only clients. Additional security features filter
incoming packets, routing them only to authorized servers. The product is
secure against the types of attacks that have been devised to penetrate
UNIX systems, a common interface to the Internet.

increase for the 2.3 version. Pricing starts at $1,575 for a 5-user
