EveryWare announces Tango

Tool provides easy World-Wide Web database integration

WebEdge attendees are first to get hands-on experience using EveryWare's
2nd generation Web/database development tool.

AUSTIN, TX--August 21, 1995--EveryWare Development Corp. today announced
and began showing Tango, a full-featured visual development tool that
integrates Butler SQL, EveryWare's client/server relational database
management system, with StarNine's WebSTAR World-Wide Web server. Tango
lets Web administrators rapidly create Web pages that access Butler SQL
without writing any SQL (Structured Query Language) or HTML (HyperText
Markup Language) code.

Tango is EveryWare's follow-up to its popular ButlerLink/Web product.
ButlerLink/Web was EveryWare's first release of a Web/database integration
tool. Tango provides a whole new level of functionality for
Macintosh-based Web developers.

Tango allows Web developers to quickly and easily create database solutions
such as:

 * online product and pricing catalogs
 * online shopping systems
 * dynamic document serving
 * online chat/conferencing
 * event registration

The following is a partial list of the features supported in Tango:

 * graphical development interface for specifying database searches,
   inserts, updates and
 * deletes--Tango automatically creates the SQL for you
 * full support for simultaneously accessing multiple related tables
   in the database (joins)
 * support for executing custom SQL
 * ability to link multiple processes in one query document
 * support for global variables associated with each user
 * meta-tags in result HTML for:
   - database results
   - IF...THEN...ELSE processing
   - including external HTML files
   - error handling
   - date & time
   - support for all HTML field types such as text, scrolling text,
     selection lists, pop-up menus, checkboxes and radio buttons
   - ability to control query execution based on user-entered values
     or database results
   - (IF...THEN processing)
   - access to all standard CGI parameters (authorized user name,
     password, IP address, referrer, etc.) for use in queries or
     result HTML
   - ability to define HTML snippets that can be dragged and dropped
     into any result HTML for faster Web page construction
   - Apple Event support for retrieving data from other applications
     or invoking external processes
   - the Tango CGI is fully threaded and PowerPC native for fast
     multi-user concurrent processing
   - ability to call Tango documents by URL links or from HTML forms
   - automatic character encoding and decoding required for display
     of special HTML characters in database results

In addition to the standard editing environment, Tango also has Query
Builders. Query Builders are like wizards or assistants. They let you
quickly and easily create search, insert, update and delete interfaces to
your databases without having to write any of the HTML--Tango does is all
for you.

The first release of Tango, expected to ship in late September, will work
with EveryWare's Butler SQL server. Butler SQL is the only SQL
client/server database for the Macintosh OS. Adherence to industry
standards also makes Butler SQL the most accessible database server for
the Macintosh, with over 40 off-the-shelf Mac applications being Butler
SQL-compatible. In the September 1994 issue of MacUser Europe, Butler SQL
earned 4.5 mice out of a possible five, out-ranking all competitors,
including Oracle, 4D Server, Omnis and FoxPro.

The second release of Tango scheduled for the fourth quarter of 1995 will
extend database connectivity, using ODBC, to database servers such as
Oracle, Sybase, and Informix.

Tango will be included FREE with Butler SQL. Registered Butler SQL users
will also be able to download Tango for free. Pricing for the ODBC version
of Tango has yet to be announced.
