DURAND AND eSOFT ANNOUNCE ALLIANCE TO CREATE UNIFIED PRODUCT STRATEGY

Santa Barbara, CA, August 18, 1995 -- Durand Communications Network, Inc.
(Durand) announced today its alliance with eSoft, Inc., one of the
founding companies of the bulletin board industry. The alliance is part of
a long-term strategy which addresses the needs of the emerging online
industry, Internet connectivity and client/server multimedia databases
operating in a seamless networked environment.

"The Durand/eSoft alliance is the first of many to be announced and
identifies both company's individual desires to provide the consumer with
an end-to-end solution from software to Internet connectivity. Durand has
several years of experience in online multimedia databases and
client/server technology while eSoft, the oldest provider of BBS software,
has a strong understanding of communications and server technology," says
Andre Durand, CEO of Durand.

Under the alliance, eSoft has taken an equity position in Durand and Phil
Becker, President of eSoft, has acquired a seat on Durand's Board of
Directors. This alliance integrates development from both companies to
create the most powerful online solution available anywhere.

"It's no secret the online world has grown up in the past year. Only a
company with a unified product strategy which integrates all types of
online access can hope to succeed," Becker said."This alliance, and the
products behind it, will provide the power to set the new standards
required to move this industry forward."

eSoft announced that Durand's graphics display standard, Windows Interface
Protocol (WIP), will be integrated into tBBS. The client software for WIP
access will be freely distributed and several other BBS vendors have also
agreed to implement WIP into their packages.

Durand and eSoft will work together to further marry eSoft's new Internet
Protocol Adapter (IPAD) with MindWire thus providing the online service
provider an easy 'out-of-the-box' solution for connecting their systems to
the Internet. "The IPAD is an incredible piece of equipment which takes
virtually all of the mystery out of putting a MindWire Server on the
Internet. Dollar for dollar, there is no easier way to provide local PPP
dialup to a MindWire Server as well as all of the basic Internet related
services," said Durand.

Durand Communications Network, Inc. (Durand), founded in 1991 in Santa
Barbara, California, provides software products and services for the
online and Internet community. Durand is a leading provider in vertical
market applications and has over 1500 clients online and an estimated
150,000 online enthusiasts using Durand products. Durand has gained an
in-depth understanding of the online community as it exists today, and
possesses the technical capability and vision to seize tomorrow's
opportunities.
