Diamond Teams with ARK Logic for the Release of New Graphics Accelerator

SAN JOSE, Calif., August 21, 1995 -- Diamond Multimedia (Nasdaq: DIMD)
today announced the Diamond Stealth64 Graphics 2001 series, the latest
addition to the Stealth64 Graphics family. This high-powered DRAM-based
accelerator delivers the fast and affordable graphics required by
performance-driven PC users in both business and home environments. The
Stealth64 Graphics 2201, the 2MB version, provides optimum 64-bit graphics
acceleration at an estimated retail price of just $189 for games and other
demanding applications under Windows and DOS. The product is available now
for PCI-based systems through Diamond's selected authorized distributors
and computer retailers.

The Stealth64 Graphics 2001 represents the introduction of the ARK Logic
2000PV graphics controller to Diamond's product line. The decision to
partner with ARK Logic is based upon Diamond's strategy of sourcing
leading-edge chip technology in order to deliver advanced solutions to the
PC market at an affordable price. ARK Logic's 2000PV achieves an
appropriate balance between performance and price.

"With the integration of the ARK Logic controller, Diamond improves system
performance with the value-oriented pricing that is characteristic of the
Stealth product family. The Stealth64 Graphics 2001 series outperforms
most DRAM accelerators in its price range, as well as some of the more
expensive VRAM-based products available in the market," said Ken Wirt,
vice president of marketing at Diamond.

Dr. David Sear, ARK Logic chairman of the board, said, "Our partnership
with Diamond Multimedia lets customers gain superior system performance in
graphics acceleration, whether their target application is for business or
home use. The ARK 2000PV provides the speed and color resolution support
expected in products from Diamond."

NO COMPROMISE GRAPHICS

Utilizing the ARK 2000PV graphics engine, the Stealth64 Graphics 2001
series enhances performance in Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and DOS
applications. The series supports resolutions up to 1600x1200, color
depths up to 24-bit True Color (16.7 million colors) and flicker-free
refresh rates up to 90Hz. The Stealth64 Graphics 2201 with 2MB of DRAM
supports 16.7 million colors at up to 800x600 resolution.

BUNDLED SOFTWARE UTILITIES

Included with the Stealth64 Graphics 2001 series are the Display Power
Management System (DPMS) for energy savings, a Windows screen centering
utility, and a customized version of Diamond's GO'95 installation program.
GO'95 offers a "Windows-like" interface for simplified resolution and
color depth switching from within DOS.
