DELL DISKETTE CURES GOVERNMENT HEADACHE

Full Line of Dell Latitude Notebooks Added to GSA Schedule

Austin, Texas, August 22, 1995 -- With government purchasing agents poised
for the fiscal end-of-year buying frenzy, Dell Computer Corporation
(Nasdaq: DELL) today launched the Dell GSA schedule on diskette, a user-
friendly tool providing "at-your-fingertips" access to Dell product
information and the ability to select products to a given budget. With the
diskette loaded on a PC, purchasing agents can configure multiple orders
to their own specification and have the GSA price calculated in seconds -
all without calling Dell. "Our efforts to streamline GSA buying -- through
software that automates product selection and budgeting to our Federal Web
page and government credit card purchase program -- simplifies the often
arduous task of government purchasing", said Theresa Garza, Dell's vice
president of federal sales.

Dell also announced that its complete family of Latitude notebook computers
are now available on the GSA schedule - including some of the first to
boast the low-voltage Intel Pentium processor. With this change, federal
employees can now take advantage of the extended battery life of Dell's
Pentium-based Latitude XPi. "The government workday isn't always spent in
the office -- it's spent traveling from agency to agency and city to
city," said Garza.

"To be more productive in this environment, government workers increasingly
are turning to portable technology such as the Dell Latitude to answer
their needs. By providing a family of notebooks, we deliver to federal
customers the best combination of aggressive price-points and advanced
feature sets." "Products such as Dell's Latitude LX 475D, priced starting
at $1,994, represents the optimum combination of price-performance in
FASA* compliant portable computing", added Garza. Pricing for the Dell
Latitude XPi P75 and P90 starts at $3,139 and $3,509, respectively. The
Dell Latitude XP 4100T, already a popular portable along "the Beltway," is
priced from $3,602. To obtain the Dell GSA schedule on diskette, federal
customers should call 1-800-727-1100.
