DAVINCI EMAIL MOVES AHEAD WITH ADDITION OF NDS INTEGRATION AND
CLIENT/SERVER TECHNOLOGY

Cambridge, Mass., July 14, 1995 -- ON Technology Corporation today
announced a new version of DaVinci eMAIL that capitalizes on Novells
NetWare Directory Services (NDS) architecture and new client/server
technology to significantly improve e-mail administration and usage -- and
earn another "industry-first" designation for DaVinci eMAIL.

The new version, DaVinci eMAIL 3.2, builds on the market leadership
position that DaVinci has established as the worlds leading NetWare
MHS-based electronic mail application for DOS, Windows and Macintosh
environments.

While previous versions of DaVinci eMAIL have supported aspects of NDS and
NetWare 4.1, the new version includes native integration for Novells
robust MHS Services transport -- the first e-mail package to have such
support. At this higher level of integration, DaVinci eMAIL uses NDS to
automatically maintain an enterprisewide address book, essentially
eliminating the time-intensive methods required for manual address
synchronization.

"For DaVinci its another industry-first, but the real beneficiaries are
network administrators and end-users," said John Rizzi, Vice President of
Sales at ON Technology and one of the e-mail industrys leading technology
and end-user advocates. "With native support for NDS and MHS Services as
well as the new client/server model, administrators will find e-mail a
snap to manage on any size network and users will find their address book
automatically includes everyone in the enterprise, without limitation or
lots of hassle."

New Client/Server Technology Benefits Users and Administrators

The new version of DaVinci eMAIL also takes advantage of new client/server
technologies to provide a "Mail Server" configuration option. Deployed as
either a MHS gateway or a stand-alone program, Mail Server is designed to
improve both the administration and use of e-mail. For administrators,
Mail Server delivers e-mail and manages rules operations when users are
inactive, and provides the ability to automatically purge wastebaskets of
inactive users. Background operation is designed to ease e-mail
administration and to accommodate the growing number of "power-down"
clients. When the Mail Server option is chosen, e-mail users will notice
their start-up and shut-down processes are dramatically faster.

Client/server techniques also have been utilized in DaVinci eMAIL 3.2 to
reduce by half the workload associated with new client configurations for
network administrators. With DaVinci eMAIL 3.2, the ADMIN program is
necessary only to create basic directory structure; DaVinci eMAIL creates
the individual user directories and files automatically the first time the
new user launches the application.

Continuing to Build DaVinci eMAIL Brand With Easy Administration, Full
Functiona lity

In addition to the new NDS Address Book choice, DaVinci eMAIL 3.2 also
introduces a Recent Addresses address book that stores the most recently
used names. The default setting is 10 names, but administrators can
redefine the parameter for the entire enterprise or for individual users.
For many users who primarily send e-mail to a small circle of people or
within their department, Recent Addresses will be a convenient way to
avoid scrolling through a long directory of names.

While some of the new features in DaVinci eMAIL 3.2 specifically leverage
NetWare 4.1 and MHS Services, DaVinci eMAIL continues to support numerous
alternative networking environments and technologies, including NetWare
2.x and 3.x, Global MHS 2.0, Connect2, and MHS 1.5.

First introduced in February 1988, DaVinci eMAIL has become the worlds
leading NetWare MHS-based electronic mail application through a
combination of seamless integration with Novell and the application of new
technologies to address customer needs. DaVinci eMAIL was the first
Windows e-mail package, the first to have a graphical interface for
administration, and the first to integrate with Novells NDS architecture.
By maintaining support for a wide range of Novells messaging and transport
methods as well as end-user platforms, DaVinci eMAIL is perfectly suited
for todays heterogeneous computing environment.

DaVinci eMAIL also offers users a great degree of flexibility. Whether its
DOS, Windows or Macintosh, the user interface is intuitive and easy to
learn. Behind the simplicity, however, is a powerful and customizable
application. A configurable toolbar, conversation threading, collapsible
folders and On The Road are among the many advanced features for users.

The DaVinci Rules add-on module maintains the simplicity theme but offers
extensive capabilities that end-users can utilize to automate dozens of
procedures -- from sorting mail to deleting "junk" mail. The version for
mobile users, DaVinci eMAIL Remote, fully integrates with Novells NetWare
Remote MHS and allows users the flexibility of using one PC or multiple
PCs to access mail from their office, the road or home.
