DSP Development Announces New Release - DADiSP 4.0

June 15, 1995-- DSP Development Corporation is pleased to announce DADiSP
4.0, a major new release of its popular graphical data analysis software
package. The new release extends the capabilities of DADiSP to collect,
analyze, and display scientific and technical data in a format that is
intuitively understood by scientists and engineers. DADiSP 4.0 embodies
several important design tools aimed at making DADiSP the most widely
accepted technical analysis and display tool available worldwide.

Important additions to DADiSP include native GUI standards, DDE and other
inter-program communications, and SPL, a complete programming language.
Expanded features of the program include the use of variables, improved
printing capabilities, and on-line documentation.

Windows/OSF

DSP Development has decided to incorporate native MS Windows and OSF Motif
GUI standards, using common dialog boxes for file section, printer setup,
feature customization, and other standard cross-application operations.
By adopting the "look and feel" of these standard GUIs, new DADiSP users
obtain immediate benefits from a familiar interface.

DDE

DADiSP 4.0 offers Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) in MS Windows through command
lines and also through pull down menus. DDE is an inter-program
communications protocol that allows disparate applications to easily
exchange data. With DDE, users will be able to combine any number of
specialized applications into a single, custom system.

Series Processing Language

DADiSP 4.0 also marks the introduction of a complete programming language
called Series Processing Language, or SPL. SPL is modeled on the C
language and provides programming facilities that include user-defined
functions, looping and iteration, conditional statements, array
references, and variables. Combined with the interactive nature of DADiSP,
SPL is an extremely powerful, yet straightforward environment for adding
custom capability to DADiSP. SPL functions are also compatible with
existing DADiSP macros.

Hot Variables

In addition to standard programming constructs, SPL includes a unique
capability called Hot Variables. An SPL Hot Variable links a formula to a
variable. Hot Variables can contain complex numbers, real numbers,
integers and strings, as well as data series and matrices.

On-Line Documentation

In addition, DADiSP 4.0 also offers on-line documentation. DSP can provide
the most current documentation available because a complete manual can be
printed locally with a click of the mouse.

Printing

Printing capabilities have also been improved. Plot titles, legends,
multiple scales, selectable fonts, and a preview mode have been added.
Point and click control over almost every aspect of the printing process
makes output customization easy. Postscript, HPGL, Metafile, and native
bitmap formats are supported.

DADiSP is the first graphical, general purpose productivity software that
"speaks" the language of scientists and engineers. DADiSP puts powerful
data analysis tools on the desktop to manage and interpret large amounts
of technical data visually and interactively. DADiSP combines power,
flexibility, and a well-engineered spreadsheet style interface for
engineers and scientists facing an array of problem-solving tasks. DADiSP
4.0 is priced at $1,895 for PCs, and $2,995 for workstations.

DADiSP provides an intuitive, spreadsheet-like, icon and menu driven
environment for displaying and analyzing data. DADiSP's unique data
management and display capabilities allow users to work with data series
of virtually any length. The flexible graphics-based spreadsheet combines
the power of hundreds of built-in functions to perform graphical data
analysis, mathematical and statistical analysis, data management, and FFT
analysis. DADiSP is used in research and development, test and
manufacturing, engineering, electronic, mechanical, and chemical
applications in automotive, medical, aerospace, and other industries.

Founded in 1984, DSP Development markets graphical analysis and acquisition
software for scientists and engineers. DADiSP has long been considered the
standard for visual data analysis by thousands of engineers and scientists
worldwide.
