COMPAQ INNOVATE FORUM 95 TACKLES CORPORATE COMPUTING CHALLENGES -- OVER A
DOZEN MANAGEMENT SESSIONS OFFER SOLUTIONS TO STRATEGIC ISSUES; INDUSTRY
PARTNERS SHOWCASE TECHNOLOGIES IN SOLUTIONS CENTER

HOUSTON, August 22, 1995 -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ)
released today the final agenda for the management track of Innovate Forum
95, a worldwide conference for Compaq customers and resellers that will
explore the world of corporate computing.

Innovate Forum 95 is designed to help management and technical
professionals address the current and upcoming challenges in information
technology. Thousands of participants from around the world will come to
Houston from October 16 through 19 to attend four days of technical and
strategic roundtable discussions, moderated by technology and business
experts, as well as keynote speeches presented by influential industry
luminaries.

The strategic/management track, which consists of over a dozen half- or
full-day sessions, will provide a stimulating and interactive opportunity
for participants to share ideas, and explore useful innovations and
strategies for solving complex business problems. These sessions will
highlight case studies and detail the technical hurdles, implementation
issues and management challenges that the participants faced. They will
also examine how technologies were used to significantly improve
productivity as well as fundamentally alter business processes. Topics
covered by the management track include:

* Solutions for End-to-End Network Management. Managing a diverse
distributed computing environment brings about a vast array of challenges
and benefits. This session will explore how companies are using network
management and other tools to lower network ownership costs.

* Disaster Recovery Planning and Risk Management for Client/Server
Environments. As organizations increasingly move business-critical
applications to client/server platforms, disaster recovery and risk
management plans must be an integrated part of Information Management
strategy. This session will examine how to assess risks, build and execute
a recovery plan, and justify expenditures to management.

* Mobile Computing Strategies will highlight how mobile computing can be
used for a variety of applications including mobile multimedia, disaster
recovery and desktop replacements, and explore the issues involved with
deploying and maintaining these mobile-based scenarios.

Other dynamic, solutions-oriented seminars include Enabling Remote Workers;
The Office of the Future; Exploiting the Internet; Managing the Transition
to Windows 95; and Reengineering Business Processes in a Client/Server
Environment.

Compaq will also host a 60,000 square foot Solutions Center at Innovate
Forum 95 where products, services and solutions from over 40 industry
partners -- including Microsoft, IBM, Sybase, Oracle, SAP, Lotus, SCO,
Cheyenne, and Banyan -- will be showcased. These partners will demonstrate
new technologies and innovative approaches to corporate computing issues,
with an emphasis on enterprise-wide integrated solutions.

In addition, there will be over 40 technical breakout sessions for
engineers who design, develop and deliver advanced technologies. These
sessions will provide solutions-oriented tools, applications and
innovations that help conquer today's complex enterprise computing
challenges.

Innovate Forum 95 is open by invitation only to Compaq corporate customers,
resellers, press and industry analysts. For additional registration
