CHEM USA INTRODUCES NEW VALUE-PRICED 486 CD-ROM NOTEBOOKS

Multimedia Notebook Feature Removable Drives, Custom Configurations,
Designed For Business Travelers, Small/Home Office PC Back-up

Hayward, CA -- August 7, 1995 -- CHEM USA Corp., introduced its new Value
486 CD-ROM notebook to the U S. market. CHEM USA is a rising star in the
notebook market with a full-line of ChemBook-brand and 5d-brand
high-performance notebook computers.

The ChemBook Model 5500 (sold through distributors and retailers) and the
Sd Model 4000 (available by direct from CHEM USA Corp.) Value 486 notebook
computers are one of the most affordable ($2755 to $3800 suggested retail
price depending on configuration) units on the market. The Value 486 is
available for immediate delivery in volume from CHEM USA's Hayward
facility.

The Value 486 features exceptional modularity and configuration options,
with a removable 340-, 500, or 810MB hard drive, removable double-speed
CD-ROM, and removable. 3.5-inch floppy drive. Both the floppy and CD-ROM
drives can be replaced with a battery for up to two hours of run time.

Other configurable features include the CPU (DX2/66 or DX4/100), and
megabytes of RAM (4MB standard, which can be increased to 8-, 12-, 20- or
36MB).

For additional data storage for small office/home office desktop PCs, or
for access to the wealth of applications available on PC cards such as
fax/modem software downloading, communications, and other memory-intensive
applications, the Value 486 provides one Type II and one Type m PCMCIA
slot and docking station for easy configuration. In addition, the unit
features 1MB of video RAM, a 32-bit video bus and 11.3-inch dual-scan
screen (the largest on the market) enabling users to rapidly display crisp
and clear video graphics.

"Mobile multimedia capability is so important for today's business
traveler," said Vicki Chen, president of CHEM USA. "Without it, so many
sales and communications opportunities are lost. To meet these needs and
other new applications, CHEM USA introduced the modular, affordable Value
486 as the perfect first multimedia notebook for a variety of users."

Another application includes providing additional storage for desktop
computers grappling with the lack of disk space. PC users can connect the
Value 486 as desktop computers via a convenient docking station. Data can
then be transferred to the hard drive. In addition, data and applications
can also be accessed on the notebook's CD-ROM drive and PCMCIA slot.
