Atomic News for August, 1995

Get With It, Atomic!

Again, we have been delinquent with getting the news out to our hungry
customers. We will endeavor to do better. I want to thank those who send
us nasty-grams about this for being much nicer about it. We appreciate
it.

Even Bigger Still

Since the last Atomic bulletin, Atomic has hired another full-time
programmer and a full-time 3D rendering artist. We are also working with a
second 3D rendering artist on a project-specific basis. We are excited
about the addition of these people and we think they will contribute
greatly to our current and future projects. Welcome aboard, guys!

America Invades

AmInv is in the final stages of testing. Avalon Hill hopes to release this
latest Atomic game by the end of September, hopefully before. Please send
pricing, availability, and ordering questions to Avalon Hill at
72662.1207@CompuServe.com.

Beyond Squad Leader and Avalon Hill

[The following is an excerpt of an interview granted to HardCore, the
newsletter of LeadEaters, a computer wargaming club on AOL. For a copy of
the entire interview, contact Agent2222@aol.com.]

The HardCore Interview: KeithZ, President of Atomic Games

[...]

HardCore: Beyond Squad Leader was not previewed at AVALONCON. Have
Atomic/Avalon Hill reached a decision to continue production of BSL? Does
it have an alpha name? Does it have a target release date?

KeithZ: The Beyond Squad Leader game that Atomic has been working on will
be released, but not under that name. It looks like it will be released
sometime next year by an as-of-yet undetermined publisher.

[...]

HardCore: Could you comment regarding the future relationship of Atomic and
Avalon Hill?

KeithZ: Atomic and Avalon Hill are still working closely on America Invades
and will continue to do so for Crusader and Stalingrad. Current events
have been hard on both companies, especially so since I personally have
very high regard for Jack and Eric Dott and all that they have
accomplished.

[...]

HardCore: There are rumors that Atomic is negotiating with other
publishers. Could you share your thoughts about the future for Atomic?

KeithZ: Atomic has been talking to several publishers for a few months
concerning new projects that we are working on. I suspect that some of
those folks will also be interested in other Atomic projects. The short
answer is that we are not concerned about our future.

HardCore: Something you'd like to add?

KeithZ: Paul, ask me that next month.

HardCore: Thanks Keith. You're always Welcome at a LeadCorps campfire!

KeithZ: Do I have to bring my own marshmallows?

NOTE TO ALL: Please do not send queries concerning these topics to anyone
at Atomic. We simply do not have the time or resources to answer them all.
If you do send queries, please do not be offended if they go unanswered.

President
Atomic Games
