Apple Expands Multimedia Software Offering with Introduction of New CD-ROM
Collection

Consumers Benefit from "Three-for-One" Values on a Variety of Popular, Top
Quality Macintosh CD-ROM Titles

CUPERTINO, California--July 31, 1995--Apple Computer, Inc. today further
augmented its leadership position in the multimedia market by introducing
the second edition of the Apple CD-ROM Collection. Consisting of 14,
three-disc packages, the collection features some of the most sought-after
commercially available CD-ROM titles from leading multimedia developers,
at a very affordable price.

"There is widespread consumer demand for top-quality CD-ROM titles for
Apple Macintosh computers," said Andrew Scoular, Apple's international
solutions manager, New Media Division. "In fact, recent third-party
research reports indicate that 39 percent of the existing installed base
of multimedia PCs* are from Apple. In response, Apple has assembled this
collection to make it affordable and easy for consumers to build a CD-ROM
library with a variety of entertaining and educational titles."

Apple's new three-disc collections make some of the most popular titles
readily available at an excellent value. For example, consumers can now
pay less for an Apple three-disc package than they typically pay for just
one disc. In essence, Apple is offering three-for-one pricing on numerous
popular titles.

Jake Myrick, president of Big Top Productions, LP, said, "Taking into
account the remarkable strides made in technology every year, consumers
demand the latest, most innovative programs for their money. Apple has
successfully assembled a collection of the newest, quality titles on the
market, and we're pleased that the Keroppi Day Hopper will be a part of
it."

"Reaching the Macintosh audience is very important to us," said John
Rodning, director of marketing, consumer products, for IVI Publishing,
Inc. "We are pleased to offer our award-winning Mayo Clinic Family Health
Book CD-ROM as part of this opportunity."

An example of one package in the collection is the "Creative Gourmet."
Ideal for "armchair" chefs and epicureans alike, this package includes,
"The Four Seasons of Gourmet French Cuisine," "The Art of Making Great
Pastries," and "The Beauty of Japan Through the Art of Sushi." This
selection represents how with each package in the collection, Apple has
selected individual titles that, when combined, offer varied content for
the overall topic area.

This second edition of the Apple CD-ROM Collection includes 14 categories
ranging from the secrets of ancient civilizations to spine-tingling
sports. The 14 categories are:

-- Adventures for Kids II
-- Creative Activities for Kids
-- Creative Gourmet
-- CyberArcade
-- CyberArcade II
-- CyberArcade III
-- Digital Explorer
-- EncycloMedia
-- EncycloMedia II
-- Family Entertainment
-- Learning for Adults
-- Learning for Children
-- Smart Fun for Kids II
-- Sports and Humor II

Also included in each collection is a virtual trade show that displays
Apple's entire CD-ROM Collection, as well as a buyer's guide to 2,000
Macintosh related products.
