"Making information more accessible to our customers and business partners
in the Pacific region is a key goal as we continue to grow market share in
these areas. A key to Apple's success in the Pacific will be our ability
to leverage programs across regions, while simultaneously understanding
the different issues each country encounters and adapting our marketing
programs accordingly," said Gary Little, senior director of marketing,
Apple Pacific. "Based on available market data, Apple estimates that 40%
of the worldwide growth in personal computers will come from the Pacific
region over the next three years and it will be crucial that these parties
have information at their fingertips, round-the-clock. The Internet is a
logical vehicle for us to do this."

Leveraging the extraordinary worldwide versatility and power of the
Internet, Apple Pacific's web site is designed to meet the diverse
communication needs of the expanding Pacific region., which includes Asia,
Australia, Canada, Japan and Latin America.. The Apple Pacific server will
provide a server directory, Pacific-wide news and updates from Apple
Computer, Inc. The Pacific server will provide such information as
regional events, product distribution information and PR contact
information. Individual country servers will provide localized Apple
