Zenith Data Systems drops another three to 13 percent off prices of
full-featured Z-NOTEFLEX notebook PCs

Special promotions offer Megahertz X-JACK modem and Microsoft Office for up
to $850 additional savings

Prices also cut on economical Z-STAR EX by up to eight percent
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Buffalo Grove, Ill. -- March 28, 1995 -- Zenith Data Systems (ZDS)
announced today another wave of price cuts on the popular Z-NOTEFLEX
notebook computer product line This continuing competitive pricing
strategy drops an additional three to 13 percent off most models of the
Z-NOTEFLEX high-end notebooks which were already reduced up to 18 percent
last December. In addition, three "Instant Mobile Office" special
promotion bundles combine popularly-configured Z-NOTEFLEX models with a
PCMCIA modem and best-selling productivity software, saving customers
another $250 to $850 off the estimated street price of the items sold
separately.

"Our latest pricing action firmly positions the Z-NOTEFLEX as a 'best buy'
within the full-featured notebook category," said Cliff Jenks, vice
president of sales and marketing at ZDS. "And the special promotion
packages target corporations that are buying large quantities of notebook
PCs to use for remote computing so integral to business in the '90s."

These latest strategic moves by Zenith Data Systems reflect the recent
flurry of downward pricing activity in the notebook category across the
industry. ZDS has aggressively slashed prices on the most popular
Z-NOTEFLEX notebook configurations, specifically powerful TFT color
systems with DX2/50 and DX4/75 MHz processors. The Z-NOTEFLEX line now has
estimated street prices starting as low as $2,069. The "Instant Mobile
Office" promotion combines a Z-NOTEFLEX notebook computer and TFT color
display with the Megahertz PCMCIA 14.4 X-JACK modem (Model XJ2114), PC
Tools for Windows, CommWorks for Windows and CoSession Remote Software.
Microsoft Office application suite software is also preinstalled on select
"Instant Mobile Office" bundles.

"ZDS is sending a very clear message by cutting costs for our customers
again," explained Jenks. "We want to reinforce our commitment to keep our
competitive position in the market with both robust feature sets and
aggressive price points."

Priced to Move into the Lead

The 13 percent reduction in the price of the Z-NOTEFLEX with an IntelDX2/50
MHz processor, 4MB RAM, a 340MB HDD and TFT color display knocks the old
ZDS price of $4,610 down to $4,024, and the estimated street price down to
around $3,750. The cost of the Z-NOTEFLEX DX4/75 with 8MB RAM, a 520MB HDD
and TFT color display has been cut 12 percent, leaving the new ZDS price
at $4,897, down from the previous price of $5,582, and the new estimated
street price at approximately $4,550. Even the high-powered Z-NOTEFLEX
DX4/100 with 8MB RAM, an enormous 810 million bytes HDD and TFT color
display is nine percent cheaper, with a new ZDS price of $5,806, and a low
estimated street price of around $5,400. (See accompanying price chart.)

"Instant Mobile Office" Bundles Offer Additional Savings

"Instant Mobile Office" Bundle No. 1 features the IntelDX2/50 model of the
Z-NOTEFLEX with 4MB RAM, a 200MB HDD, TFT color display and the Megahertz
PCMCIA 14.4 X-JACK modem (Model XJ2114) for a ZDS price of $3,499, or up
to $250 savings. Bundle No. 2 adds preinstalled Microsoft Office to the
mix of the modem and communications software with Z-NOTEFLEX model DX2/50
with 8MB RAM, a 340MB HDD and TFT color display for a ZDS price of only
$3,899, representing a savings of up to $700. Bundle No. 3 also includes
Microsoft Office preinstalled on the faster Z-NOTEFLEX model DX4/75 with
8MB RAM, a 520MB HDD and TFT color display. The ZDS price for this bundle
is only $4,299, which will save users up to a whopping $850. (See
accompanying price chart.)

The Z-NOTEFLEX "Instant Mobile Office" bundles will be offered through ZDS
resellers nationwide now through June 23, 1995. Zenith Data Systems is
promoting the bundles with a comprehensive print advertising campaign that
includes national publications such as Business Week, USA Today and
Computer Reseller News, and major newspapers across the country, including
the L.A. Times, Miami Herald, Chicago Tribune and the Washington Post.

Economical Z-STAR Prices Also Cut Up To Eight Percent

Zenith Data Systems has also included the economical Z-STAR EX notebook
line in the recent round of price cuts. With prices lowered as much as
eight percent, the already affordable Z-STAR EX notebooks are currently
available for as little at $1,699.

Z-STAR EX savings include a six percent discount on the monochrome DX2/50
with 4MB RAM and a 200MB HDD, now priced at $1,699, or $100 less than the
old ZDS price. A four percent price drop in the DSTN Z-STAR EX with a
DX2/50 MHz processor, 4MB RAM and a 340MB HDD also now sells for $100 off
its previous ZDS price, at $2,299. Eight percent off the TFT color Z-STAR
EX with a DX2/50 MHz processor, 4MB RAM and a 340MB HDD puts the ZDS price
at $2,999, down $250 from $3,249. (See accompanying price chart.)

ZDS Notebook Values Rise As Prices Fall

The Z-NOTEFLEX is designed to provide mobile users with all the computing
resources normally found on desktop PCs. It features unprecedented
user-configurable components and an unparalleled modular design that
enables the system to be used longer and in more productive ways than most
notebooks. To enhance overall performance of the Z-NOTEFLEX, the benefits
of local-bus video and local-bus IDE hard disk drive subsystems are
combined to maximize data throughput.

The unique modular design of the Z-NOTEFLEX allows users to easily swap the
floppy disk drive for an optional second battery pack to further extend
Z-NOTEFLEX' s productivity and value. In independent tests conducted by
VeriTest, Inc., this year, the Z-NOTEFLEX TFT color notebook delivered
over six hours and 45 minutes of real-world computing time with the two
batteries installed -- enough time to operate the computer throughout a
cross-country airplane flight.

"Although Active Matrix (TFT) displays are known for drawing more power
than DSTN or other passive displays," the VeriTest technical summary
explains, "we have found that the additional sharpness of the TFT display
allows us to reduce the backlight of the screen, sometimes making it
possible to actually achieve better battery life with the TFT screen."

"The Z-NOTEFLEX price/performance equation has always been strong,"
commented Jenks. "But these additional savings and special promotions make
it the leading functionality and performance value available today. Due to
its unparalleled modularity, the Z-NOTEFLEX protects our customers'
investment by extending its worth into tomorrow far better than the
competition."

The economical Z-STAR EX line is likewise built with user-upgradable parts
and a flexible modular design usually found only in high-end notebooks. It
also offers elite functional features like the HandiPoint pointing device
embedded in the home row of the keyboard, and an integrated AC adapter
cube that slides easily in and out of the floppy/battery slot for
increased convenience.

Technical Support and Warranty Coverage

Zenith Data Systems offers 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, toll-free customer
assistance and product support. CoSession remote assistance software is
also included standard on all Z-NOTEFLEX and Z-STAR EX notebooks. When
used with a modem, it enables a ZDS technical consultant to provide
dial-in analysis of a customer's computer system.

Z-NOTEFLEX notebook computers are covered by a three-year limited warranty
for all parts and labor, which includes Z-CARE on-site, next business day
service for the first year, and Z-CARE 48-hour mail-in or carry-in service
for the second and third year. All response commitments are based upon
commercially reasonable efforts, and all response times may vary depending
on availability and/or the nature of the service requested.

Z-STAR EX notebooks are backed by one-year limited warranty for all parts
and labor that includes Z-CARE on-site next-business-day service.
