XLNT DESIGNS INC. INTRODUCES JTAG EMULATION FOR THE POWERPC

New Support Enhances NetROM

April 18, 1995 -- (Embedded Systems Conference East) -- Atlanta, GA -- XLNT
Designs, Inc., (XDI) today introduced JTAG Emulation for the PowerPC on
their NetROM product.

The NetROM JTAG solution supports all versions of the PowerPC architecture.
NetROM provides the link which facilitates all cross-development
activities to occur over the network -- from hardware bring-up to source
level debugging. The NetROM JTAG solution for the PowerPC accelerates
cross development tasks with the Ethernet communication provided by
NetROM.

NetROM is a communications gateway that combines powerful Ethernet
capabilities with ROM emulation. NetROM provides communication paths
between the target system being debugged and the host development station.
These paths are used to communicate between source level debuggers and/or
users to target communication. This communication requires no Ethernet
hardware or software on the target system. NetROM can communicate with the
target through the target's UART for other things. In addition, this
allows NetROM to provide communications with targets that do no have
UARTs.

NetROM's ROM emulation features allow developers to download up to 1
Megabyte of code in 18 seconds. This eliminates the frustrations
associated with reprogramming EPROMs or downloading code over serial
links. NetROM supports 8-, 16-, and 32-bit word sizes in a single unit.

"We are able to bring to the embedded systems market a complete PowerPC
solution. The combination of NetROM and PowerPC architecture answers the
need for a high speed, flexible development environment", said Roger
Moyers, vice president, Sales and Marketing for XLNT Designs. "With the
addition of PowerPC to our growing roster of microprocessors supported
with NetROM, we offer the complete debugging solution for the embedded
designer."

Hugh Cree, Regional Business Development Manager for PowerPC at Motorola
commented, "We feel that XLNT Designs is a strong third party partner in
our PowerPC solution. The addition of NetROM with JTAG Emulation for the
PowerPC brings together two products that will increase the speed at which
companies get their products to market faster."

The debugging environment for the embedded PowerPC target is accomplished
over the network using the NetROM JTAG. The NetROM JTAG provides the
developer with the ability to non-intrusively single-step code, set
break-points, run memory tests and other functions. This eliminates the
need for expensive processor emulators and allows complete development.

NetROM (with JTAG) is available now and the U.S. list price is $5595.00.
Delivery is 30 days ARO. Please stop by booth #441 at the Embedded Systems
Conference East in Atlanta, Georgia for a demonstration and further
information.
