NEW MEDIA BRINGS PCMCIA HOME

New "Bun Toaster" Brings Nouveau Cuisine to Home Computing

           ***** APRIL FOOL NEWS RELEASE !!! *****

IRVINE, California, April 1, 1995 -- New Media Corporation, a leading
developer and manufacturer of portable computing solutions, today
announced its bold new foray into the PCMCIA home market with the
introduction of its "Bun Toaster," a PCMCIA-to-toaster PC Card adapter.
The three-year-old company is noted for its PCMCIA firsts, such as Bus
Toaster, a PCMCIA-to-SCSI II adapter, and .WAVjammer, a PCMCIA 16-bit
stereo sound card. With the Bun Toaster, New Media has reached a new
plateau in innovative new products.

Featuring built-in fuzzy logic-based control and coupled with a 2000 watt
industrial grade toaster, the Bun Toaster can turn novice chefs into
seasoned pros. Users simply plug the BunToaster card into their portable
computer and they can produce beautifully toasted bread, bagels, English
muffins, or even Pop Tarts. Targeted directly for the home market, the Bun
Toaster is ideal for today's busy executive, Pillsbury cook-offs, or is a
great compliment to Tupperware parties.

The Bun Toaster sports a PCMCIA type ll card, simple two-foot cable
interface, and two-slot custom toaster built by Bon Ami, the renowned
French appliance maker. The PCMCIA card contains an on-board 66MIPs fuzzy
processor tuned for high performance computing of fuzzy variables to
provide flawless toasting.

"The Bun Toaster is a delectable blend of today's state-of-the-art PCMCIA
technology, the cream of the crop in culinary production hardware, and
fuzzy logic control software," said Carl Perkins, president of New Media
Corporation. "Fuzzy control means you no longer have settings such as 'one
through ten,' or 'light to dark.' Instead, with our graphical
windows-based fuzzy logic interface, you can use more human terms such as
'kinda light' or 'toasty brown,' and you'll get perfect results every
time."

The Bun Toaster uses a Fuzzy Cognitive Map, or FCM (pronounced, well... you
know), to determine cooking conditions. The FCM takes imprecise human
terms of fuzzy adjectives such as "sorta lighter" and "not too hot," and
equates them with fuzzy variables related to the cooking process,
providing exactly the desired results. The FCM is a new fuzzy paradigm
recently developed by Professor Bart Kosko of the University of Southern
California.

The Bun Toaster ships with New Media's "Master Chef," a Windows-based
Graphical User Interface (GUI) with a selectable fuzzy menu system that
makes choosing complex fuzzy variables simple enough for the most novice
techno-cook. The menu lists fuzzy variables such as "toasty brown" for
English muffins or "nice and warm" for instant waffles for a no nonsense
ease of use. "Like all of our products, the Bun Toaster is easier to use
than a cheese shredder," said Perkins.

Industry analysts predict that, with new products like the Bun Toaster
entering the market, laptop computers in the 90's will quickly dominate
the kitchen much like the electric can opener did in the 60's.

"The Bun Toaster is our first venture into the home market," stated Jeff
Wheeler, New Media's senior executive vice president of marketing. "We
expect the Bun Toaster to explode on the marketplace. We have already
signed up all the majors and expect early adoption of the product to spawn
a whole new culinary cult similar to Tupperware parties."

"Before the Bun Toaster, making a great Pop Tart was nearly impossible,"
said Mrs. Perkins, Carl Perkins mother. "Now with the Bun Toaster
connected to my Dell Latitude XP, Pentium laptop, l can make a great Pop
Tart -- you know, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The Bun
Toaster is the envy of my bridge club."

The Bun Toaster is ideal for more exotic meals as well. Beta sites have
reported excellent results ranging from Spago's frozen pizzas to Beef
Wellington. "Zee onlee problaim I haid weeth my Beef Wellington was
getting zee slices of meet to stand up strait," reports noted French chef
Jean Raymon de Chou-fleur S'il Vous Plait. "But zee effort was wurth zee
results."

Look for many more enticing new PCMCIA products from New Media, including a
dough kneader (the "Bread Jammer"), cappuccino maker (the "Percolator"),
and combination egg scrambler/bacon fryer (the "Griddler"). "We won't rest
until New Media is a household name," Perkins said.

The Bun Toaster is listed at $99.99 and includes a complete set of Ginsu
knives and a lifetime membership to Tupperware Parties of America.
