SOFTWARE AG - First Major Vendor to Become a Full Member of the
International Data Warehouse Network

RESTON, Va., April 10, 1995 -- Software AG, a leading provider of data
warehouse solutions, today announced they have joined the Data Warehouse
Network, the international forum for companies planning and implementing
data warehouses. Software AG is the first major software vendor to have
full membership in this forum.

The Data Warehouse Network, headquartered in Henley-on-the-Thames, England,
offers a data warehouse information forum for member companies. Members
have access to services, analysis and leading-edge information on data
warehouse development. Member-run Think Tank meetings offer an opportunity
to exchange experience and knowledge about every aspect of data warehouse
design and implementation.

"We're proud to be the first vendor to join the International Data
Warehouse Network. This move demonstrates our leadership in the emerging
data warehouse market and our commitment to help build this organization
into a powerful resource for its members and the international IT
community," said Michele Perry, director of the data warehousing program
at Software AG. "Software AG brings leading-edge, open data warehouse
technology and implementation experience to this important organization."

The Data Warehouse Network offers research, education, training, market
intelligence, and an information networking service to its members. It
publishes the Data Warehouse Report, a quarterly journal written by
leading practitioners of data warehousing, and Corporate Member Reports,
which include an annual market survey and application updates. The Network
also sponsors an annual Conference and Exhibition. This year, the
international conference, Data Warehouse Network `95, will be held in
London during June and will be the setting for the first meeting of the
Network members.

The mission of the Data Warehouse Network is to provide and maintain an
independent forum for data warehouse developers, which is dedicated to the
development and delivery of excellent support services in the form of
research, information, consultancy, and education. The Data Warehouse
Network sees itself as a prime driving force in the field of data
warehousing endeavor, actively involved in the advancement and
exploitation of the technology.

Software AG is the first major software vendor to offer an open,
comprehensive data warehouse program that includes a complete set of
integrated products and services. The Open Data Warehouse Program offers
developers a choice of off-the-shelf, custom, and semi-custom integrated
products and service components to build a high quality data warehouse at
a lower cost and with less risk than if the developer were to purchase the
products separately and do the integration in-house.

Today, Software AG's Open Data Warehouse Program products include: NATURAL
Engineering Workbench for data modeling; Passport(TM)* for data
extraction; ENTIRE for data transfer; SourcePoint for administration and
maintenance of the data warehouse; ESPERANT, for end-user queries;
ESPERANT MetaLinc for Carleton for meta-data access; NETMAP for data
mining; DSS Agent for easy access to multidimensional analysis of
information stored in data warehouses, and a complete range of services,
