Low cost sound adapter for PCs

April 10, 1995 -- Thrifty Talker provides a simple but effective way to get
high quality digital audio from ALL IBM/compatible PCs. The module plugs
into the computer's parallel printer port. A printer can be attached to
the other end and does not interfere with printer operation. The cord from
Thrifty Talker attaches to a small self-powered amplifier module which in
turn powers a mini stereo headset. The amplifier and headset are included.
All brands of powered amplifier speakers for PCs are also supported.

Software (3.5" diskette) includes a Windows 3.1 audio driver, DOS-based
sound compression utilities, a graphic based audio waveform editor, and
BASIC programming examples and demonstrations.

Besides Windows compatibility for educational and business software
applications, Thrifty Talker is compatible with 100's of DOS-based
software applications. Software utilities allow pre-recorded Windows WAV
or Creative Labs VOC sound files to play from the product. Program
examples provide simple means to construct menuing systems for voiced
advisories, talking greeting cards, talking advertisements,
incentive/promotional applications, presentations, and more. Excluding the
Windows audio driver, all programs, examples and user-defined developments
are designed to operate from a diskette.

Thrifty Talker is slim, rugged, and mobile. It operates from any desktop,
laptop, or notebook computer, regardless of CPU speed. Being a passive
device, it will not conflict with other installed sound cards, fax/modems,
CD-ROMs, or networking cards. Suggested retail price for Thrifty Talker is
only $27.95. Quantity and educational discounts are available.
