QUALCOMM Incorporated rolls out its global electronic mail strategy

Santa Clara, CA (April 20, 1995) - QUALCOMM's (NASDAQ:QCOM) commercial
software group, known as QUEST, and developer of the Eudora by QUALCOMM
electronic mail software, announced today their new global electronic mail
strategy. The announcement was made at the E-Mail World show, April 20-21,
at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.

The e-mail strategy will broaden QUALCOMM's reach into three market
segments: the Internet consumer, general business and education customers,
and organizations with enterprise-wide networks. QUALCOMM will expand its
e-mail solutions for each market segment in phases over the next year,
commencing with the Internet consumer marketplace.

"As the desktop application software development arm of QUALCOMM, our goal
is to bring consumers and business users alike, complete integrated
software solutions for easy and effective communication next door or
around the world," said Jeff Jacobs, director of business development,
QUEST.

To reach customers in each market segment, the company will provide the
product features and functionality important for those customers. For
example, product features for the consumer marketplace will focus on
simplifying access for individuals. For the general business audience
consisting of small and medium-sized businesses, QUALCOMM will provide
complete workgroup solutions to improve access to, and sharing of,
electronic information within the office, as well as around the world. For
large enterprise organizations, QUALCOMM will deliver a broad range of
integrated client/server software and communications technologies to
improve the quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness of the electronic
exchange of e-mail and data.

"Across all market segments we are committed to providing not only easily
accessible and easy to use solutions, but solutions that maintain the
security and protect the privacy for electronic mail users on the
Internet," said Craig Brenner, national marketing manager, QUEST. For
consumers, this means being able to protect personal information such as,
credit card numbers. General business users need to conduct secure and
safe negotiations over the Internet, and government users require the
protection of sensitive information.

To provide these advanced features and functionality across these different
market segments, the company will not only tap into its own vast expertise
and resources, but partner with third party software and system vendors,
and major telephone companies, both domestically and internationally.
QUALCOMM is also pursuing numerous distribution agreements and joint
marketing relationships worldwide.

On March 27, 1995 QUALCOMM became one of the first companies to open a
storefront on MCI's marketplaceMCI, the first brand-name secure electronic
shopping area on the World Wide Web. In addition, Apple Computer Inc.
announced on April 10, 1995 that the Eudora software will be included in
their Apple Education Series: Personal Internet Solution Bundle to help
educators effectively use and integrate technology into their learning
environments.

The Eudora by QUALCOMM software is the commercially available version of
the popular Eudora e-mail software in use by approximately 3,000,000 users
worldwide. It is personal computer software for Macintoshes and PCs that
allows users to send, receive, sort and otherwise manage electronic mail
over TCP/IP networks. Regardless of platform, users can communicate with
remote offices, distribute such things as formatted spreadsheets and
documents, and hold electronic meetings, forging inexpensive links with
other individuals and organizations in virtually any location.

Headquartered in San Diego, QUALCOMM develops, manufactures, markets,
licenses and operates advanced communications systems and products based
on its proprietary digital wireless technologies. The Company's primary
product and development areas are the OmniTRACS system (a geostationary
satellite-based, mobile communications system providing two-way data and
position reporting services), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)
wireless communications systems and products and, in conjunction with
others, the Globalstar low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite communications
system. Other Company products include the Eudora by QUALCOMM electronic
mail software, VLSI components and communications equipment and systems
for government and commercial customers worldwide.
