DALLAS (March 7, 1995) - PureData has announced FAXination DID, the
industry's first plug-and-play direct inward dialing (DID) network fax
server board. DID provides a simple and reliable method of routing
incoming faxes from the fax server, through the local area network (LAN),
directly to the user's workstation.

FAXination DID joins PureData's full line of coprocessor-based fax modems,
from single user SatisFAXtion models to FAXination network fax server
boards which scale up to 32 channels. FAXination DID is a full
inbound/outbound network fax solution which significantly lowers the
overall cost of the fax system and reduces the required number of server
slots needed for installation. Fully software configurable port and card
settings make installation and configuration easy.

Operating at a 14.4 Kbps V.17 fax transmission rate, and using Modified
Read (MR) data compression to reduce the size of the computer file,
FAXination DID helps users save on long distance charges. Providing
support for full T.30 subaddress routing, FAXination DID is compatible
with all common DID services in the U.S. and Canada.

FAXination DID also includes the following industry firsts:

- an internal power supply (no external wall-mounted supply required)
- automatic Trunk Busy Out causes roll-over when a server or LAN error
  condition arises
- Trunk Loop Back Test, a full-coverage DID trunk interface test
- a complete set of diagnostic tools
- power fail support
- DTMF and Pulse Dial decoding

The FAXination family of products are two or four port 14.4Kbps network fax
adapters designed for high performance fax servers. Up to eight adapters
can be installed in a single server, for a high performance 32 port
solution. The adapters have the first truly automatic installation
process. FAXination's installation process locates free memory and
interrupt locations, then automatically configures all cards and drivers.
Novice users can install, configure, and update config.sys and
autoexec.bat files in less than 10 minutes.

FAXination's patent-pending LocalFax feature cost effectively exports
computer fax capabilities to the standard fax machine - eliminating the
need to change fax numbers or add more fax lines. The fax machine can
connect to the LocalFax port and get 14.4Kbps transmission, destination
routing and document scanning. Another key benefit of LocalFax is if the
LAN goes down, FAXination will automatically connect the fax machine to
the telephone network. Faxes addressed to the fax server are never lost.
