LAS VEGAS (March 27, 1995) -- PureData has taken the industry's fastest ISA
adapter, boosted its performance and made it more user friendly, with a
host of improvements that simplify installation and increase user
options.

One of the industry's first Plug-and-Play Token Ring network interface
cards (NICs) for local area networks (LANs), the new adapter offers
industry standard Plug-and-Play support, simplified configuration through
a new installation utility and an adapter management utility. The adapter
will configure automatically on any computer equipped with Plug-and-Play
capabilities. The Plug-and-Play standard, as defined by Intel Corp. and
Microsoft Corp., automatically installs and configures the adapter to work
with other vendors' products.

For users who do not have Plug-and-Play compliant machines, PureData
provides a powerful installation utility with a user-friendly DOS or
Windows interface. Extensive on-line Help is available through Windows
Help, augmenting the installation utility and simplifying access to
important information normally found in the printed manual.

To further optimize critical configuration flexibility in today's
multimedia environments, PureData has increased the number of I/O
addresses to 16. With support for five DMA channels and eight interrupts,
the adapter provides an industry leading total of 640 configuration
settings, offering the highest performance in any network environment.

The adapter includes the latest version of PureData's PureMACH drivers
which use an advanced parallel processing technique that reduces latency
and minimizes use of the PC's bus and CPU by allowing several processing
tasks to be performed simultaneously.

The Plug-and-Play adapter is fully compliant with IEEE 802.2 and IEEE 802.5
and is 100 percent IBM-compatible. Driver Support for the adapter is
available for all major network operating systems, including NetWare, LAN
Server, LAN Manager, Unix, Banyan Server and WindowsNT Advanced Server.
Alliances with all major vendors further ensures that driver support will
be available for planned product releases.

The Plug-and-Play adapter is designed for the emerging full duplex Token
Ring standard now being finalized. Support for full duplex operation,
effectively doubling throughput, will be available as a software upgrade
as soon as the standard is ratified.

PureData's new Plug-and-Play Token-Ring adapter is shipping with a
suggested list of $285US.
