LAS VEGAS (March 27, 1995) - PureData has introduced a family of 100VG
local area network (LAN) products which enable LANs to operate at speeds
up to ten times faster than previous Ethernet products allowed. These
significantly increased data throughput speeds are critical to the
performance of multimedia LANs.

PureData's new 100VG product family includes network interface cards (NICs)
for 32-bit EISA and PCI bus computers and a compact, low cost 100VG
Repeater. For investment protection, the 100VG PCI NIC supports multi-mode
10/100 Mbps operation. Installation on today's 10BASE-T networks requires
only the addition of repeaters.

All PureData 100VG products support 100VG Demand Priority, allowing users
and administrators to tune their networks and to provide extended
bandwidth for high-demand servers and power users. This makes the overall
network more efficient, and supports full 30 frames-per-second video for
emerging multimedia applications.

The 100VG products are fully compatible with all categories of unshielded
twisted pair media, eliminating costly rewiring. Further protecting the
user's investment, a simple software upgrade fully prepares the 100VG NICs
for Full Duplex Ethernet operation.

The NICs are fully software configurable, offering plug-and-play
installation and configuration. I/O, Memory Mapped and Bus Master EISA
transfer mode options are available. Diagnostic LEDs provide comprehensive
status and activity information.

The 100VG Repeater, with a highly competitive price-per-port, provides
reverse polarity error detection and correction, intelligent link
management and training. The Repeater manages all prioritization for
demand priority 100VG users. Status and activity is reported by port LEDs
and a traffic counter.

All PureData 100VG products are fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 and IEEE
802.12, as well as emergent cabling standards. Driver Support for the NICs
will be available for all major network operating systems, including
NetWare, LAN Server, LAN Manager, UNIX, Banyan Server and WindowsNT
Advanced Server. Alliances with all major vendors further ensures that
driver support will be available for planned product releases.

PureData's new 100VG EISA NIC and Repeater will begin shipping in May with
a suggested list of $349US for the NIC and $999US for the Repeater.
Shipping later this year, the PCI NIC will have a suggested list of
$379US. All quality products from PureData, including the 100VG family,
come with a five-year warranty, backed by responsive technical support and
a quick turnaround product replacement plan.
