PERISCOPE AND PHAR LAP SOFTWARE ANNOUNCE A JOINT RELATIONSHIP, EMBEDDED
PERISCOPE FOR PHAR LAP.

April 18, 1995 -- Periscope's debugger hardware now works with the CodeView
debugger available in Phar Lap's TNT Embedded ToolSuite System

The Periscope Company, Atlanta, GA and Phar Lap Software, Cambridge, MA
have been working together to enable Periscope's new line of real-time
hardware debuggers specifically for embedded development to work with the
CodeView debugger in Phar Lap's new TNT Embedded ToolSuite system.

The new product, Embedded Periscope for Phar Lap, gives software engineers
capabilities similar to those provided by in-circuit emulators (ICE), but
at a much lower cost of $3000 to $4000. Eliminating the need for an
expensive in-circuit emulator to track down bugs in real-time software,
Embedded Periscope for Phar Lap is the "ICE for the Software Engineer."

The CodeView debugger included in Phar Lap's TNT Embedded ToolSuite system
is a robust environment in which to debug your programs. With the CodeView
debugger you can examine source-level code and the corresponding compiled
code at the same time. The command set helps you track program execution
and changing data values. You can even point-and-click on individual
source code elements to start and stop program execution or modify bytes
in memory.

About Periscope

The Periscope Company was founded by President Brett Salter in 1981. It
introduced the Periscope line of debuggers in 1984. Over the next few
years the company established itself as a leader in the development of
hardware-assisted debugging tools for PCs. Its first "real-time" Periscope
debugger, Model III, won Finalist status in PC Magazine's Technical
Excellence competition in 1988, in the Add-in Boards Category. The
hardware included in the new Embedded Periscope product line is the
Periscope Model IV hardware, which has been successfully used by thousands
of software developers to debug time-sensitive software. In addition to
the software support for Phar Lap's CodeView, Periscope has added hardware
support for the 386EX chip to its Embedded Periscope product line.
Embedded Periscope currently supports 386EX, 386SX, 486DX, 486DX2, and
486DX4 environments.

About Phar Lap Software

Phar Lap Software, Inc. was founded in 1986 has been a leader in software
development tools since it introduced the first commercially available DOS
extender. In September of 1994, Phar Lap announced the TNT Embedded
ToolSuite system, a suite of development tools that delivers a total
solution for 32-bit embedded systems development on the 386/486 family of
microprocessors. Phar Lap's ToolSuite offers a single source solution for
those who want to build embedded applications using popular DOS and
Windows compilers from Borland, Microsoft, and MetaWare. Included in the
ToolSuite are: the protected-mode TNT Embedded Kernel; a 32-bit
linker/locator; support for embedded cross-debugging using CodeView, and
Turbo Debugger; a 16 and 32-bit assembler for the 80x86 CPU family; an
MS-DOS compatible file system; support for C/C++ run-time libraries; a
floating point emulation library; and the Visual System Builder utility.
