PERISCOPE ADDS 80386EX SUPPORT TO ITS REAL-TIME DEBUGGER HARDWARE FOR
EMBEDDED ENVIRONMENTS

April 18, 1995 -- ATLANTA, GA -- The Periscope Company has added debugger
hardware support for the 386EX processor with its new 386EX Adapter, which
the company is showing at the Embedded Systems Conference East starting
today in Atlanta. The adapter enables the company's new Embedded Periscope
product line, which includes the ICE-like Periscope Model IV hardware, to
work in target 386EX systems. The price of the Periscope hardware needed
to support a 386EX system (including the new adapter) is under $4,000.

The Periscope Company has been producing real-time debugger hardware for
PCs since 1987 and hardware-assisted debuggers since 1984. Its first
real-time debugger hardware for 8088 and 80286 processors, Periscope Model
III, was a finalist in PC Magazine's 1988 Technical Excellence Awards (for
add-in cards). The current generation of Periscope's debugger hardware
supports the 80386EX, 80386SX, 80386DX, 80486DX, 80486DX2, and 80486DX4
chips.

The first announced product in the Embedded Periscope product line is
Embedded Periscope for Phar Lap, which supports Phar Lap's new 32-bit TNT
Embedded ToolSuite (covered in a separate, joint Phar Lap/Periscope press
release). Periscope's own debugger software, not part of the Embedded
Periscope product line, enables the real-time hardware to work under DOS,
Windows, Windows 95, and OS/2, including Warp.
