RECENT PCB DESIGN CONFERENCE A HIT FOR ATTENDEES, EXHIBITORS BOOK
80-PERCENT OF NEXT YEAR'S FLOOR SPACE

Educational Programs and PCB Benchmark '95 Evaluation Just the Start, Event
Also Becomes Forum for Major Industry News

San Francisco -- April 18, 1995 -- A comprehensive educational curriculum
and participation by nine vendors at this year's edition of the PCB
Benchmark Series were just the start of the action at last month's PCB
Design Conference (March 20 - 24 in Santa Clara, Calif.). OrCAD Inc.
(Beaverton, Ore.) used the forum to announce its intent to acquire
Massteck Ltd. (Boxborough, Mass.), and a number of companies launched new
products, indicating recognition of the annual conference as the premier
event for the printed circuit board and electronic design industry.

Exhibitors, who vote on the success of a show by committing to return, have
already booked more than 80 percent of the exhibit floor space for next
year's conference, scheduled for March 18 - 22, 1996 at the Santa Clara
Convention Center.

Conference attendees were particularly enthusiastic about the Design
Excellence Certificate programs, special curriculums covering High-Speed
Design, Packaging, Design for Manufacturability, and Electrical
Engineering for the Non-Engineer. The success of these curriculums,
comprised of one full-day tutorial and three seminar sessions, makes this
addition to the conference a sure repeat at the 1996 PCB Design
Conference.

The annual PCB Benchmark Series saw nine vendors submit their EDA products
for evaluation by an independent panel of engineers and designers. This
included an early release of software from MicroSim and the first release
ever of EDA tools from newcomer Incases North America. Other participants
in PCB Benchmark '95 were CAD Design Services, Dansk Data Elektronik,
Intergraph, Ivex Design International, Massteck, Protel Technology, and
Zuken-Redac.

Some of the biggest news at the show was the announcement that desktop EDA
tools vendor OrCAD Inc. planned to acquire Massteck Ltd, bringing that
company's MaxEDA PCB layout software and other products into OrCAD's
Windows product lines. OrCAD's communications staff said that the PCB
Design Conference was the ideal venue to make the announcement.

In all, the fourth annual PCB Design Conference saw three vendors announce
new entries in the EDA tools market, including MicroSim Inc., NeuroCad
Inc. and Incases North America. A host of new products and upgrades were
also announced or shown for the first time on the exhibit floor.

The PCB Design Conference is the annual showcase for emerging technologies
used in the design and manufacture of printed circuit boards. It is
produced by Miller Freeman Inc., the third largest trade show producer in
North America. A wholly owned subsidiary of United Newspapers plc of
London, England, the company produces dozens of electronics and software
conferences and trade shows, including: Autodesk University Conference &
Exhibition, The Embedded Systems Conferences (East and West), MechanCAD,
Surface Mount International: Advanced Electronics Manufacturing
Technologies, and the OS/2 World Conference and Exhibition.
