NOVELL CONSUMER DIVISION BUILDING OEM MOMENTUM

Division continues to add strategic OEM relationships and announces a new
OEM relationship with Acer

ATLANTA -- April 24, 1995 -- Novell's Consumer Division continues to build
OEM momentum as it adds more computer hardware vendors to its growing list
of OEM partners. Recent OEM agreements include Pionex, Hewlett-Packard,
EPSON and Quantex.

Today Novell added another relationship as it announced an agreement with
Acer. Acer will include Novell consumer products on its AcerAcros spring
models. The consumer division expects to announce more agreements in the
next two quarters.

The OEM agreement with Acer involves Read with Me 1&2 and Memphis Math, two
of the consumer division's top children's education products. Both
products, developed by the Waterford Institute, have won awards and
approvals from various publications and groups.

"Based on our current licensing agreements, PerfectHome products will be
included on at least 3.5 million of the home PCs shipped in the next 18
months. This number will likely increase as we finalize other
relationships," said Jeff Mallett, vice president and general manager,
Novell Consumer Division. "We feel this gives us a strong presence in the
OEM channel and establishes Novell's consumer division as a top player in
the consumer market. We're pleased to be associated with premier vendors,
such as HP, and plan to continue such associations."

Current OEM agreements for PerfectHome products include PerfectWorks, an
integrated works package, InfoCentral, Grammatik, Clip Art packages,
titles from the Wallobee Jack series, Paper Planes, Read with Me 1&2,
Write with Me and Memphis Math.

Novell's Consumer Division will continue to secure strategic relationships
with high-caliber manufacturers by offering quality titles for
productivity, entertainment and children's education.

"We want to provide consumers with multimedia PCs preloaded with a wide
range of popular software," said Harry "Webb" McKinney, general manager of
Hewlett-Packard's Home Products Division. "The Novell consumer software
bundle provides the quality, value and end-user support that will meet our
customers' expectations and our early market goals."

The momentum of the consumer division supports Novell's vision of creating
a world of pervasive computing and enabling people to act on information
anytime, anyplace. Novell PerfectHome will continue to make home computers
more practical and computing more pervasive with a wide range of software
titles for the home.
