Motion Picture Corporation of America Interactive Takes Interactive
Multimedia to Horror Filled Heights

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--April 12, 1995--Motion Picture Corporation of America
Interactive announces the summer release of the movie-based interactive
adventure featuring film footage from the cult classic horror movie
series, Pumpkinhead. BLOODWINGS: Pumpkinhead's Revenge, for the PC CD-ROM
platform, premiers at retail outlets in June '95.

A Horror-Filled Movie Experience

Pumpkinhead II: Bloodwin's They just couldn't leave dead enough alone. Out
for a thrill one night, Jenny Dixon and her teenage friends stumble upon
Witch Osie's cabin and unintentionally resurrect a demon from rural
myth--the vengeful creature known as Pumpkinhead.

When a series of brutal murders begin to overtake the small town, the only
clue is a chilling blood splash in the shape of wings.

Motion Picture Corporation of America Makes Movies into Interactive
Entertainment

MPCA is in the business of producing independent, high-quality movies. On
the set of Pumpkinhead II were new faces looking for a performance that
would be incorporated into a multimedia interactive experience. The film
Pumpkinhead II, and the interactive game based upon it, went into
production at the same time and were shot simultaneously. MPCA knows the
importance of encouraging interactive and graphic artists to join the
project and collaborate with other creatives from the beginning. MPCA made
the commitment to giving their interactive design team full access to all
materials from the beginning: from screenplay and storyboards to stills.
And because MPCA budgets cost-effective shooting schedules, the
interactive crew took the time they needed to get additional footage.

Other CD-ROM games have been based on hit fantasy films, among them DRACULA
and JURASSIC PARK. But all have been restricted to pre-existing footage,
limiting the interactive experience. "The schedules and budgets of the
Majors simply don't allow the luxury of shooting concurrently in separate
formats," explains Jed Weintrob, Executive Vice President of MPCA
Interactive and Producer of both the film and game, "whereas our lean
production techniques, coupled with leading edge technology, provide that
latitude." In every way, MPCA seeks to push visual and technological
margins.

The interactive team set out to create a suspenseful, horror-filled
experience using the emerging multimedia technology that combined with
their science-fiction/horror film would take the Pumpkinhead quest to new
heights. The result is a movie-based interactive adventure that moves and
interacts with excerpts from the original movie, known as Interactive
'Movie Portals.'

Horror Fills and Fuels the Movie-Based Interactive Adventure Experience

In the game, the tormented spirit of Pumpkinhead has been let loose to seek
vengeance among the living. As the Keeper of Spirits, it falls to the
player to end his reign of terror.

The player is transported into the cavernous realm of spirits; consisting
of Periphery, Purgatory, and Pumpkinhead' s Lair. A group of foolish
teenagers raise Pumpkinhead from his crypt then carelessly burn down the
home of his guardian Witch Osie, setting the tone and direction for what
is to come. Now only one person can stop the slaughter, and there are many
monsters to kill, decisions to make, puzzles to solve, and souls to save
before the final confrontation.

Every player enters this first person, fully interactive 3-D world
(rendered on-the-fly) on their quest of decision making and movie
interaction that sets the pace and direction of this bloodchilling story.
BLOODWINGS combines the traditional elements of interactive adventure
games with a live action style of play. Some play includes combat, mystery
mazes, puzzle-solving and a unique interactive movie experience, 'Movie
Portals'. 'Movie Portals' are a world players enter to grab inventory
items, gather key elements of the story plot, fight Pumpkinhead, and
garner clues to further their adventure through the cavernous halls of
Pumpkinhead's lair.

BLOODWINGS Supports Emerging Technology

Motion Picture Corporation of America Interactive has designed a
proprietary engine that supports MPEG, the Pentium processor, and
multimedia scaling, graphics, audio, and video. The BLOODWINGS interactive
team worked diligently to provide the fully interactive movie experience
by implementing what they've coined 'Movie Portals'. This full-motion
video taken from the Pumpkinhead II movie and additional on-set
photography is not only viewable by the player, but interactive as well;
the player grabs for items and intercepts Pumpkinhead's attacks. There are
over 40 minutes of footage from the film and 65 minutes of video in all.
The added 25 minutes were shot both on the set of the film and in a studio
against a 'green screen' composite background. This footage provides the
added elements of Pumpkinhead's wrath that really bring the first-person
perspective to life. BLOODWINGS has an estimated gameplay of 50-90 hours.
Although it may appear to be a linear storyline, this movie-based
interactive adventure utilizes tricks of the technology trade to make each
experience unique, more challenging, and fulfilling time and time again.

Move forward at your own risk, for the souls of the innocent rest upon
you.
