LOTUS TO PREVIEW TEAM COMPUTING FEATURES IN NEXT GENERATION DESKTOP
APPLICATIONS AT SPRING COMDEX

ATLANTA, April 24, 1995 - Lotus Development Corp. today announced that it
is demonstrating at Spring Comdex 1995 team computing features that will
improve the productivity of organizations large and small by enhancing the
way people communicate, coordinate, and collaborate on their work.

The company said unique features built into the new versions of the 1-2-3
spreadsheet, Word Pro word processor, Freelance Graphics presentation
graphics software, Approach database, and Organizer personal and group
scheduler will make it easier for people to collaborate on common business
tasks such as preparing a budget, writing a business proposal, organizing
a sales presentation, or scheduling a group meeting. By automating the
process of collecting ideas, distributing drafts for review, and
consolidating feedback into a final document, these new applications will
help people work together and increase the productivity of individuals,
teams, and organizations.

Examples of Lotus' commitment to team computing will be previewed in the
forthcoming releases of Word Pro and Freelance Graphics.

TEAMCONSOLIDATE

This new feature, to be included in the forthcoming release of Word Pro,
enables users to consolidate multiple edits into one document and review
those edits while finalizing a document. TeamConsolidate offers multiple
benefits to team users. For example, edits from multiple sources can
easily be combined, tracked and displayed in separate versions of a file.
TeamConsolidate also provides quick and simple tools, accessible from a
task-specific Review Bar, to consolidate edits into the final draft. This
feature in Word Pro functions in any communications environment: users
swapping floppy disks, communicating via electronic mail or connected to a
local area network, or using Lotus Notes.

TEAMSHOW

This new feature, to be included in the forthcoming release of Freelance
Graphics, enables people in two different locations to view a screenshow
simultaneously. With each location connected via cable, modem, local area
network or wide area network, the presenter controls the screenshow at the
remote location. This allows both presenter and viewer to easily walk
through and discuss the presentation over the phone, saving time and
money.

"Support for team computing is the next major breakthrough for personal
computer applications," said Amy Wohl, president of Wohl Associates, a
leading technology consulting and research firm. "Over the last decade,
users have realized significant gains in individual productivity, with
better spreadsheets, word processors and other business applications. Now,
users need tools that place an emphasis on collaboration and integration
with people via spreadsheets or documents. The next generation of business
applications should provide this team approach."

"The key advantage of Lotus' business applications is their support for
team computing. Our products provide features that help people
collaborate on shared tasks and coordinate their work," said Ilene Lang,
senior vice president, Lotus Desktop Business Group. "Lotus understands
the problems people face when they try to work together, and we know how
to design features that teams need and like to use. Our leadership in
groupware and communications products, such as Notes and cc:Mail, gives
Lotus a unique advantage in developing desktop productivity tools that
fully exploit the customers' communications infrastructure. These tools
help our customers communicate, coordinate, and collaborate on their work
more effectively, reduce cycle times, respond more quickly to changes in
the market, and gain a higher return on their investment in technology."

Lotus will introduce next generation desktop applications that will run
under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and OS/2 commencing in 1995. These new
applications will fully exploit each of these operating systems.

Lotus Word Pro for Windows 3.1 will ship as early as the summer of 1995.
