LOTUS SHIPS PHONE NOTES APPLICATION KIT RELEASE 2.0

Delivers Enterprise-Wide Telephony Development Environment

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 10, 1995 -- Lotus Development Corp. today announced
that it has begun shipping Lotus Phone Notes Application Kit 2.0. The
enhancement release includes eight new forms that make it easier for
developers to create more powerful Phone Notes applications and to
integrate them more closely with other Notes applications and telephony
processes. The upgrade also includes enhancements to existing command
forms, including a more flexible interface and better manipulation of
playback on voice and text objects.

The Phone Notes Application Kit Release 2.0 allows developers to extend
Notes applications so telephone users can easily manage Notes information
using a touch-tone telephone. The Phone Notes Application Kit provides
the building blocks for rapid development, deployment, and roll-out of
Phone Notes applications. The new release contains eight new Phone Notes
command forms, including Call Subroutine, Case, Convert DTMF to String,
Copy, Execute Notes Macro, Execute OS Task, Trigger Event, and Wait Time.

"With these new enhancements, e-mail, fax, and voice communications can all
be handled the same way to enhance our customer service," said John Hodge,
chief information officer, NAC Reinsurance. "Phone Notes allows us to
extend Notes databases to anyone with a telephone thereby improving ease
of use for employees and clients."

"The ability to use the most ubiquitous business device to access,
manipulate, and distribute business information is a tremendous benefit to
all, particularly the mobile user," said Jeff Papows, vice president,
Lotus' Communications Business Group. "Products like Phone Notes, which
enable users to communicate and collaborate with their colleagues,
business partners, and customers demonstrate Lotus' ability to deliver
innovative solutions that address the new realities of how business is
conducted today."

Updated sample Phone Notes applications, including Customer Support
HelpDesk, Human Resource Benefits Selection, Notes Document Faxback, User
Validation, and Auto Attendant are included with the Phone Notes
Application Kit Release 2.0.

Phone Notes applications require third-party software to execute the
applications and provide the necessary voice processing functionality. Big
Sky Technologies' Remark! PhoneClient 3.0 is used by developers as the
execution and voice processing software for Phone Notes 2.0 applications.

According to Mark Bannon, vice president of sales and marketing at Big Sky
Technologies, Inc., "The newest release of our Remark! PhoneClient
software provides support for the numerous enhancements in Phone Notes 2.0
in addition to providing better application management tools for
developers and systems administrators. With Phone Notes 2.0 and
PhoneClient 3.0, Phone Notes developers will find application development
even easier and deployment of these applications in large Notes sites more
manageable."
