ERICSSON AT NETWORKASIA '95

At NetworkAsia '95 to be held in Singapore on May 2-5, Ericsson Business
Networks will show Consono, it's new family of voice, data and multimedia
communications systems for private networks. Consono brings together
Ericsson's existing PBX and data networking solutions, and adds new and
enhanced capabilities in a number of areas, for example multimedia
communications and network management.

The central pillar of the Consono offering is a new version of the MD110
digital PBX system. MD110 is already one of the world's best-selling large
PBXs, having been sold in 70 countries with a total of 8.5 million lines
installed. The Consono MD110 PBX is complemented by a new range of digital
system telephones, Dialog 3000.

Consono Dynamic Network Administration, a new set of network management
applications, will also be displayed. Based on open platforms and open
interfaces, the MD110 Application Suite provides integrated management of
complete Consono PBX networks. The new applications are based on the
Windows NT environment.

In addition, Consono's support for multimedia communications, including
personal conferencing via desktop PCs, will be demonstrated at
NetworkAsia. Consono Networked Interpersonal Multimedia includes
Proshare*, Intel's ISDN-based personal conferencing package, and
isochronous Ethernet which allows real-time videoconferencing to be
carried along existing Ethernet wiring. Both Ericsson and Singapore-based
AsiaPac Distribution (Ericsson Business Networks' distributor of
multimedia and data products in Malaysia) will demonstrate an isochronous
Ethernet multimedia conference in their stands.

The Ericsson Broadband Interface Module (BIM), which is a component of
Ericsson's complete Consono MD110 Broadband Premises Network solution,
will be set up to show an integrated infrastructure for all communications
traffic - voice, data and multimedia - within an organization.

Lastly, Ericsson Business Networks will display Consono Eripax, its
wide-area data network system which includes a new high-capacity backbone
network node, the FS 700. It has enhanced support for frame relay and X.25
and will be able to take advantage of emerging public ATM (Asychronous
Transfer Mode) services. A new Consono Eripax access node, PFA 230,
features flexible packet and frame access as well as advanced router
functionality, as a result of a technology-sharing agreement between
Ericsson and Cisco Systems.

ERICSSON NORWAY

Ericsson Norway will present its Subscriber Line Management System (SLMS)
and Network Evaluation And Test System (NEAT). SLMS was designed by
Ericsson in collaboration with telecom operators to provide accurate and
timely service to subscribers at the initial point of contact. From a
single, fault-tolerant computer system SLMS provides routines for handling
enquiries, complaints, repairs, installation and maintenance work in the
network. Uniquely, SLMS features a modern subscriber line measurement
system that is integrated with the administrative functions.

NEAT is a unique management tool used by telecommunication operators for
planning, operation and maintenance. By monitoring network quality and
capacity, NEAT helps achieve the highest levels of service while reducing
the cost of maintenance and the investment required.
