PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENTS AND SHOW FLOOR ACTIVITY DISTINGUISH EMBEDDED SYSTEMS
CONFERENCE AS THE PREMIER EAST COAST EVENT FOR EMBEDDED DESIGN

San Francisco -- April 5, 1995 -- With more than 85 new products on exhibit
and a first class technical program for electronic design professionals,
the third annual Embedded Systems Conference East is emerging as a prime
location to track developments in the embedded marketplace. The largest
East Coast forum for embedded systems, taking place April l 8-20 at the
Inforum in Atlanta, will feature multiple product announcements along with
60 technical courses taught by industry experts.

"Manufacturers and suppliers choose the Embedded Systems Conferences to
unveil and display their products because they know that their audience
will be there," said Lindsey Vereen, editor of Embedded Systems
Programming. "The embedded systems market is evolving at a rapid pace.
Controllers are faster and more optimized than ever for embedded
development. And, of course, development tools such as emulators and
software toolsets have become indispensable to software engineers
designing today's complex systems."

New product highlights include a low cost, high performance microcontroller
from Advanced Micro Devices; an all-in-one industrial motherboard from
American Predator Corp.; the first of a new generation of inexpensive,
modular in-circuit emulators from Kontron Elektronik Corp.; and a
four-inch by four-inch, 486-based OEM kit from Megatel Computer Corp.

Additionally, two press briefings have already been scheduled for Embedded
Systems Conference East. At 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, Newbridge
Microsystems, of Kanata, Ontario will announce a strategic relationship
with Motorola for production of a new interface device to adapt 68K
designs for use with PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) components.
Objective Spectrum, of Cary, North Carolina will brief the press on
BridgePoint 3.1, a ShlaerMellor Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) and
Recursive Design (RD) tool, at 3:00 p.m. on the same day. Other product
announcements at the show are planned by Digital Equipment Corp.,
Hewlett-Packard Co. and Intel. These companies and others will be meeting
with journalists and industry analysts on the show floor and in the press
room (Room #210) at the Inforum.

All of this excitement is indicative of the show's dramatic growth since
its inception in 1993. The 1994 conference showed a 250% increase in
conference attendees over the first year, and continued growth is
projected for 1995.

Embedded Systems Conference East is the only East Coast educational forum
100 percent dedicated to embedded systems products and services. Now in
its third year, Embedded Systems Conference East is the East Coast
counterpart to the original Embedded Systems Conference, a seven year old
event which takes place every fall in Silicon Valley. Both conferences are
presented by Miller Freeman, Inc., the publisher of Embedded Systems
Programming and Communication Systems Design and the third largest trade
show producer in North America. A wholly-owned subsidiary of United
Newspapers plc of London, England, the company provides dozens of
electronics and software conferences and trade shows, including: Software
Development Conference, Autodesk University, MechanCAD, PCB Design
Conference, Surface Mount International, and the OS/2 World Conference and
Exhibition.
