World's First Power Portable with Dual Pentium CPUs

Blazing Performance at 120 MHz

Fremont, CA, April 24, 1995--Today Dolch Computer Systems introduced the
world's first portable computer with dual Pentium processors. Designed for
power hungry applications that normally require high-end desktop systems,
the PAC 586-120DP running at 120 MHz delivers over one and one-half times
the performance of the best of Pentium based machines. Never before have
mobile power users been able to do symmetrical multiprocessing away from
their server connections. Also available on this highest of high-end
performers is the new Dolch flat-panel video technology, providing for the
world's fastest portable flat-panel displays.

PAC--The Portable Benchmark

Since 1987, Dolch has received a wide variety of media awards for having
the "fastest portable on the planet." The first to offer 386, 486, and
Pentium processors, the company is the first to introduce dual Pentium
CPUs in a portable. Now sophisticated users with power hungry mobile
applications can take full advantage of dual Pentium CPUs when working in
32-bit multi-thread environments such as Windows NT 3.5, Windows 95, OS/2
Warp, and UNIX. And in addition to the blazing dual 120 MHz CPU
performance, the PAC 586-120DP provides for on-board PCI SCSI II hard
drive support and 16550 UARTS for the maximum in serial port throughput.

"Nothing with a handle has ever come close in performance to the new dual
Pentium based PAC system," according to Volker Dolch, President of Dolch
Computer Systems.

Unconstrained Graphics and Video

Dolch has also been the industry leader in flat-panel display performance.
It was the first company to offer active matrix color panels on a
portable. It is now the first company ever to break completely free of the
constraints previously dictated by the application specific controllers
that have been necessary for flat-panel displays. By designing a
transparent interface that allows the use of industry standard VGA cards,
Dolch has opened up the portable to all of the video control products for
high-end CRTs. The PAC series provides the user with the choice of
selecting from the industry's wide array of ISA, EISA, VESA, and PCI bus
based graphics accelerators and video controllers. For example, the first
PAC demonstrators were fitted with 64-bit PCI controllers and 2 MB of
VRAM, achieving a performance rating of an astonishing 115 WinMarks. In
addition to the wealth of controllers, any of the popular JPEG and MPEG
compression boards, and specialty CODEC boards for phone-line and ISDN
distribution of video can be used as plug-and-play components in any of
Dolch's PAC power portables.

"The new digital video technology in a Dolch power portable provides for
graphics and video applications never before possible on any flat-panel
portable computer," again, according to Mr. Dolch.
